Thought the same when I saw the original post. I was like "Whaaattt? NFAB is making legit sliders now?" I was excited to see the price point. But, yeah...when they say "rails" they really mean it as a "rail" mounting system for their optional steps. The rocker panels would be in for a serious world of hurt if you contacted those rails while off roading.

Pretty slick! Based on the label on those, are they indeed metal?

Yeah - they are, and felt like pretty good quality, especially considering they were only $12.95 each

$13/ea. Damn. That's a steal! Especially considering that I paid like $20 for a plastic overlay so I could black out the chrome "T" emblem on the steering wheel. lol. I know overpaid for that.

Yup - Miller Toyota of Anaheim, here in Orange County, has them in stock on display with some other TRD badges (including some with the 3 color flag, in the usual yellow-orange-red, as well as the bluescale and grayscale versions - but I think those were plastic, but they were also $12.95 each. I considered one of these, in the yellow-orange-red, but would've messed with the full black & white aesthetic that I've ended up with after the chrome delete)

Installed the Diode Dynamics hitch light. Doesn't wash out the camera and doesn't trigger any trailer warnings/messages either.

How tough is it to install? Looks like it snaps in place in the receiver. How does it get signal and power from the trailer plug? From behind the bumper?

DD provides a T harness you plug in behind the bumper at the 7 way. 5 min install if you chop the tabs off so you can use a locking pin...otherwise it's a 2 min job

I would love to see someone use the in-line harness at the 7-way WITH a topper, just to see how it acts. I was really curious but DD Customer Service had no clue what I was talking about.

I explained that Leer (I assume other topper manufacturers do as well) utilize an in-line harness at the 7-way as well for the operation of the 3rd brake light and, I assume, 12v power for any accessories inside the topper. My assumption is that they've never sold one of these kits to someone who runs a topper because I had a hard time explaining this. I was asking if they're plug & play 7-way harness would still work if I plugged it before or after the topper harness.

    @Diode Dynamics...if you're listening...I'm happy to test and report back if you'd like. :)

I dont see why it wouldnt work if the topper harness uses the same plug and doesnt reroute power/signals. The light i got does not have a 3rd (Is it 4th?) brake light function, but Id assume it would be the same harness for both and you can just tap in to it. IIRC, 7-pin t-harnesses are universal. I know Putco also sells a universal harness you plug in at the tail light, but that might not work with the higher trim level lights.

I tried to get KC HiLites to make an in-line pass through as most plugs have a common design. I’d especially love one that can plug into the backside of the bumper to leave the exterior unaffected for a trailer. I ended up wiring in my rack lights myself to the backside of my 7 way plug and it works great. Just would be nice to have a hidden plug and play option

I assume it would work too. I don't see why not since, according to Leer, their harness just pulls power. I know I could buy the kit and probably return it if it didn't work. I just hate having to front my own money & time to essentially act as a tester for a manufacturer. :)

I've done enough of that already for Toyota already with the 3rd Gen.

Don’t really like how the step looks(although it is functional). Really easy to install/uninstall so I’ll offer it up to anyone who wants it for $240 shipped. Bought it from Sparks for $286.

Ya! if we can make hidden running boards why can't we make a hidden bed step. It's the one thing that annoys me looks wise.

I think it’s probably one of those things only the truck owner notices. I’ve looked at hundreds of pictures and never once even noticed the bed step, let alone had the thought that it looks dumb.

Obviously if it bugs you, do what you need to.

It’s an awesome feature. But I’m getting old and less mobile.

Saw a RAM with the same type of setup, didn't grab a pic as I was passing by, I think I only noticed because I have a bedstep. It's like you don't notice all the dark gray vehicles driving around until you own one. It's the new rage. Another bullet point why I traded my 22.

@Diode Dynamics switchbacks for the turn signals. I love the look. They require the resister and getting to the signals from the wheel well is way easier.

Noticed a crazy high oil pressure soon after starting the truck and leaving work. Does anyone else see this?

I noticed engine temp is cold in your picture. Mine shows similar high pressure after cold start. Once mine reaches fully warmed operating temp the oil pressure goes down.
