We just took a 3000 mile round trip from Springfield,MO to Las Vegas to Phoenix,AZ and back. Spent almost 50 hours in the car this week and absolutely NO body aches at all! Just an amazing truck. It’s been almost 20 years since we’ve gone on this far of a trip.

I’ve heard that seat comfort on the Limited 07-13’s may be better than the 14-21’s. I have nothing to compare my 07 to, but it’s hard to imagine it getting much better. I’ve owned 34 cars in my lifetime and this one takes the cake as most comfortable. Even beats the Range Rover, BMW’s, and Mercedes we have owned. Anyone else have any thoughts?

    We like 'em too!

...And I shall pose a question to you.

Does your fancy guage cluster happen to give you a numeric readout each tire pressure monitor??

Thank you, and Yes, comfy AF (even with SR5 cloth).

Unfortunately it doesn’t give me a readout for the tire pressure.

But then again, it might be better that way because I do a 5 tire rotation (I bought a matching rim), and because of that 1 of the 4 tires running right now doesn’t have a TPMS sensor. The 4th tire with TPMS is currently my spare. I don’t get a tpms warning light which I like.

In comparison, my wife’s 18 Mercedes has the tire pressure readout but if I try to do the same thing, I get a Tpms error message-it doesn’t like that the 4th tire isn’t getting an active reading.

Lol I forget that my limited came with an upgraded cluster from the norm. I do really like it.

    Appreciate the quick response!

I have been considering upgrading to the optitron cluster, but TPMS readout is really the only reason I would pull the trigger.

Thank you for saving my a few bills!

Apparently the data is available in the truck though. I have an aftermarket head unit that displays both tire temp and pressure along with gauges via an OBD2 interface. While I have not verified it as 100% accurate it is there.

My 1st Tundra was a 2011 CM base model with the cloth 40/20/40 front bench. I did a 5000 mi trip with the kids when it was a month old and it was a breeze. By far the most comfy seats of any vehicle, including the 2015 DCLB and the current 2021 DCLB. Granted, the new one has vinyl seats, but same design and nowhere near as comfy as the 2011.

My 2010 SR5 cloth seats are way more comfortable than my 2018 Limited leather seats were.

Anyone know if it's a direct swap? (putting 2nd gen seats in a 2.5 gen?) At least the driver seat, anyway.
I'd be in heaven if I could swap in a 2nd gen heated cloth seat in my 2021.

My Kenwood Excelon HU pulls the individual tire pressures off the canbus and displays them. Very accurate too, within 1-2 PSI of all my gauges.

Well that’s 2 that have confirmed that the early model seats are more comfortable than later model ones ( potentially regardless of trim). Seems strange for Toyota to have gone backwards on seat comfort. I guess I’ll just have to keep my 07 as long as I can! Thanks everyone

If I had a crystal ball and knew how the next 10 yrs would play out, I would've yanked the seats out of my 2011. I may still try to find some 2nd gen seats in decent shape at some point (after I confirm they are a direct swap).

Love my drivers seat on my 07 Limited, but just wish the passenger side had the same up/down/tilt as the drivers side. Whenever I get in the passenger seat, I feel like I’m sitting on a booster seat!

Wow, really? Are you lot long in the legs and short in the backs?
I'm an acceptably average 5'10" but short legged and long backed (and with my build, people always called me a knuckle dragging gorilla, bloody plebs.) and I find my 2013 is by far the most uncomfortable ride I've had in a post 1990's vehicle. The seat is ok but the headrest needs to go up by another 2" and because it's got a fixed position the damned thing gives me chronic neckache. The cheap Walmart memory foam back pad makes things a lot more comfortable and staves off neck ache for anything shorter than a four hour journey.

Wife says the passenger’s seat in the Tundra is also the most comfortable ever. No complaints on the long drive. Then again, she’s only 5’4.

Wow that’s crazy how different our experience is…unless the seats had changed by 2013? I’m 5’9 , I guess longer legged.

I'm also in the other camp on this one so far. Just bought my first tundra, a 2008 SR5 crewmax with cloth seats, and I'm finding them very uncomfortable. For reference I'm 5'10, 195lbs. They just feel like I'm sitting in a very wide flat seat. Maybe my seat is just worn down by the previous owners but I feel like I get almost no bolster support anywhere. I'm coming from a gx470 that I sold to get this and a limited trim 4th gen 4runner that we still have. The leather seats in both of those feel much smaller and more "bucket seat" like as far as support goes. I'm thinking I may need some seat jackers or something if anybody makes those for 2nd gens.

My seats are very comfortable also. We have done about 12,000 miles the past two years towing a 26' travel trailer.

I've been saying this to non-TT owners who's never ridden in one. And when they do they're amazed how comfortable the cloth seats are and how huge the inside of my CM feels.

I love my cloth seats! And so does my dog (see avatar)! My dog shrieks when I drive the truck without him. Kid you not. His bark turns into a shriek. LOL

My Platty feels like a caddy ... very comfy. I sat in a 22 and the foam is not as thick as 2nd gens.

You can get a cheap Bluetooth obd2 dongle. EBay and Amazon have them for $20

Then run one of many obd2 apps on your phone like Torque.

And you can get the data on your phone. They have tpms features on some of the apps.

Cheap way of getting all the data.
You can even get an old phone or tablet and make it the dedicated car computer.

Just a different solution. I got my Bluetooth obd2 dongle from China for $6

    Been working for years

We own 2 GX470’s. They’re also very comfortable vehicles (as would be expected of a Lexus), but our 07 Limited is still more comfortable than the GX’s. The biggest difference between the 2 is that the Tundra seat is longer and supports the thighs better.

Agree ..does your 07 have the seat button that extends the seat ? Makes a huge difference on long drives for me. Also, how many miles you up to now ? ..I just hit 81k and going strong.

Wow I never noticed that extender button until now! When I press it, I heard something actuate but didn’t feel the thigh support move. I’ll play with it later. 190,000 miles on mine and still runs great!
