Ram mount is for my phone. I just bought a longer arm for it so that it is a bit closer to the driver seat.

Nothing for the ball right now. Want a second mounting point for the future and didn’t want to take it all back apart to add one.

I’m thinking I’m going to buy one of those Bluetooth obd2 ports and mount my old phone or tablet up there for some additional gages.

    You’re smarter than me, brother.

I thought about installing a second ball when I did mine, with no plans of installing something on it but thinking “what if I change my mind…”

thankfully, I’ve become pretty quick over the years at pulling the trim pieces/stereo out. I could probably have everything out of the way to start installing one in about 3 minutes.

This was the first time that I pulled the dash apart and have had vehicles in the past where it wasn’t so easy so I was planning ahead.

I don’t think I’m 3 minutes but I could do it in under 10min. It wouldn’t be that bad to take it apart again and add something.

Spent a few hours cleaning up the rats nest I've created in the engine bay over the last year with accessories. It's not as clean as some of you guys manage to make it, but it's a huge step in the right direction.

yeah man. I’ve probably had mine torn apart 20 times in the last 6 years.

My wife’s Lexus on the other hand, I wouldn’t even know where to begin..

It was time. My mechanic was giving me a hard time when I had it in last week for a new alternator.

    Pretty things
Spent 2 hours tuggin and diggin a Ford explorer UP and out of several feet of pea soup, slushy BS.

Hero of the day is the kinetic recovery rope...And of course the trusty Tundra, which despite my best efforts would NOT get stuck in said "BS", and yanked the (very) front drive biased explorer to eventual freedom.

Couldn't bear to disgrace my coincidental (closer) friend with pictures of the debacle, so you'll have to settle for a pre driveway-clearing picture from the day before...

Added lights, flocking and a flashlight holder to my upper glove box. My friend said I must have run out of things to work on and he's right.

Here's the back to show the messy but hidden wiring. Everything is powered through the switch except the USB charger.
    0C867AD3-CCAB-4E64-8BA7-E2EF920D0BB3.jpg

This is the switch I used to trigger the lights when the door opens. I hoped to create a more hidden switch but there's not much room to work with on the edges of the door.

This just makes me chuckle as it has made me realize how little I use my glovebox. To get to it from the driver's seat, I'd have to basically climb over the center console to sit in the passenger seat to open it.

Yeah I literally never use it. My center console is completely packed though.

Haha...same. Although PhotoNerd motivated me to get off my arse and see what was in the glovebox. To my surprise, or not, wife's make-up and junk occupied the space. *SIGH*

    Well, there goes that idea!

I’ve been considering pulling the trigger on a set of these. Do they all come with amber DRLs? I think I like that better than the white.

How do you like them after you got the adjustments right?

Tore the dash apart Sunday eve as I was waiting for FedEx who implied parts would arrive Thursday eve. It's Tuesday, still no show!

How do I get to these knockout plugs below the heater controls? Pull the passenger side to get access to the cup holder??

The cup holder pull out seems to have push buttons on the rails that *might release it.... I didn't dig into the right side.

    Thanks

I found out the hard way today that Turtle Wax Paste with Graphene, when left in the garage over winter, is one tough SOB to get off once applied, almost like the old paste wax when left on too long. I just applied, and then tried to wipe off after a minute or two and it was big ones. I had some detail spray that I used to help get it off but there is still some in spots that need the buffer. I tossed the rest of the jar in the trash. Frankly I was underwhelmed with the stuff anyway. Carnuba from now on.

Anyone else tracking Knock Corrected Learn Value (KCL)? I use 89 octane and it's pretty much stays at 22 all the time. That said, it's due for a longer run down the highway. Average mpg is 12.5. It's 4.6 4x4 DC.

Nope but curious what app and sensor you are using and what you think of them. Looking at making a dashboard like this soon with my old spare phone I have lying around and mounting it on my ICS plate.

That's OBD Fusion with the Lexus, Scion, Toyota PID add-on for more access. Phone is SS Galaxy.

The data as I know it is a calculated by the ECM, using the knock sensors and uses that to adjust the ignition advance and at some level the fuel map.

My IS-350 runs around 24 to 25 and it has 11.8:1 compression. It also has a tune but that never changed that information.

I need to run some 91 or 93 octane and see if MPG's increase. If not, it's likely not worth the extra cost.

What OBD port are you using to sync with OBD fusion?

OEM DLC port. aka OBDII port through an Elm 327 Bluetooth to phone. I think it was $27 through fleabay... I haven't tried all possible combos on the truck but a couple quick pokes did not allow TPMS to display the psi or temp. I'm guessing I need a custom PID for that but haven't followed up.

OT but the IS350 has Nav, Bluetooth, and handset calling. Somehow phone can handle OBD dongle feed, intertainment and calls so, 3 different streams via Bluetooth w/out dropping out.

Sorry, I can't find my order. It uses an app called Lotus Lantern. It was a decent gadget, I just couldn't make it work with the interior.

So the tray comes out and then there is the housing/insert. If this is what your talking about just grab from either end and push down on the top with your thumbs/tilt downwards and pull out. It is just two tabs on the top that catch behind something to hold it in place. Make sure you've removed all the screws and the single 10mm.
