RIP

I can not believe Rachel Welch has passed away. She died on the 15th, I have not seen one story about her death. The wife saw one little blip on her phone this evening. Always thought of her as a polite woman and did not seem to be one of those better than you people type of person! That’s sad, 82 years old, RIP Ms. Welch.

 

Now Jimmy Carter is under Hospice care at home. 98 years old. Many moon ago we drank a six pack of Billy Beer in the gas station in Plains Georgia!!!

 

It’s funny in a way - look at Raquel Welch 40 years after starting out - still an amazing looking woman. Look at Madonna circa 1983 vs today - jesus what happened there. Just shows you how stars from Raquel’s generation will never be equaled. Marilyn Monroe is the yardstick by which all will be measured - but Raquel Welch proved you could live a long and fruitful life and still look amazing.

Jimmy Carter - probably the only man who became more famous for what he did AFTER he left the White House (at least in a good way). I mean as a president - he was pretty unremarkable historically - right up there with Ford - sandwiched between a couple of guys who represented one of the most disliked presidents (at least until recently) and one of the most liked of modern times in Nixon and Regan. But as a humanitarian- Carter proved what type of person he was. He built Habitat for Humanity into a widely recognized cause. He and his wife showed that despite the obvious benefits of being a former president at a relatively young age - he wasn’t about to just sit back and relax. I have nothing but respect for him for that reason - he realizes his time is drawing near and just wants to rest a bit now and enjoy some time at home - I’d say he deserves it and wish him well.

 

RIP Lance Reddick what a shame and only 60 years old! Natural Causes?

 

So sad. He lived about 1 hour north of me. My daughter used to work with his son. RIP Lance.
