    Excellent. Thanks.

When it comes time to maintenance my front Icons, I might swap out to the Dobinsons since we can spec higher spring rate coils. Icon didn't have that option last year when I ordered my kit in July.

My front bumper & winch forces me to max out Icon's recommended preload (1.125" of thread) and I'm still running a slightly more aggressive rake than I'd like. I'm only getting about ~2.25" of front lift vs the 3.5" the kit is rated for.

The day they released IMS kit on their site, I saw how customizable it could get while maintaining low cost, and teal being my color of choice for anything and everything, threw me over the edge.

Glad to hear great things about the IMS kit from a forum member. I have the IMS kit on order with the 2” front (0-110), and 1” rear (0-110). I’m not going to be carrying any super heavy loads. I spoke with Dob’s and they stated these have 10% more spring weight than stock.

Icon UCA’s and sway bar drop, Timbren rear bumps, and Duro bumps front bumps are ready to go once I receive the kit from Dob’s. Can’t wait. Thanks for sharing pics!

Pics don’t do it justice since I’m just dragging ass still. I think once I get the 2” rear spring that it will look 100x better. I think they got tired of me emailing for updates, so they sent everything they could. Great customer service over there.

You’ve already seen all my photos on the rough country flare thread ;)

The customer service at Dobinsons has been stellar for me as well. They answered all my questions professionally and in a timely manner.

Just an update on timing fyi is they were expecting the shipment from Australia to land at port on 3/13. Hopefully there were no delays with the weather.

Thanks for this post…I have a similar reaction when I hit a certain join on an overpass that I need to drive over everyday with my Westcott’s and have been looking at the Dobinsons kit lately also.

I was going to ask if there was a reason you didn’t go with their control arms but I am guessing release timing didn’t allow that?

…or did you just prefer the icons?

The UCA's will still be several months out. My bet is August or later.

They all will, there is nothing special about the pro besides the 1.1in higher front shocks- everything else is the exact same, so removeit and sell it

Westcott if you need a cheap spacer lift that takes away from your ride quality

    or

Any of the full lift kits out there - adventure motorsports, dobinsons, Icon, King, etc

This right here. Absolutely nothing special about the trd pro. Just different suspension and a different front sway bar. That’s why I bought a truck with a TRD OR package. All the off-road features you need without the huge price tag.

Let me start with saying that I 100% agree with you. Everything that works with the other trims should work with the Pro.

However, I can understand @Molly815's confusion. Some of the manufacturers exclude the TRD Pro from their compatibility list.

Example Icon (this is from their current 2.5 kits - I haven't checked the newer 3.0 kits):

Thats just icon being dumb, never mind them. JK Icon probably hasn't tested it on the pro yet.

Very likely. Most manufacturers are so risk adverse that they'll just claim incompatibility until they can test it.

So I bought the Westcott Preload Kit and some 35"s but havent put them on yet. I am concerned with the ride quality going down however, I am limited with my options with the AVS/Adjustable Air Ride Suspension on my 23 Platinum.

Has anyone done an Icon setup on an AVS/Adjustable Air Ride vehicle? Its my understanding the only way to go this route is to disconnect the AVS/Adjustable Air Ride and move on from it. Just looking for any lessons learned etc on this...

Still debating doing the whole suspension option - just dont know what Toyota might do if I disconnect the AVS/Air Ride - ugh whys it gotta be so damn complicated!

In all seriousness…and unless I am wrong all you NEED for 35’s is a simple spacer up front to level the truck and not the whole pre-load collar/spacer combo from Westcott.

Many a member have used those with decent results and the least impact to ride quality.

It you want the whole truck lifted further then is where the less than stellar Wescott lift/tire combo starts to impact your ride…or you bite the bullet and go all out.

Folks have also put on portions of the Wescott’s kit (top front spacer and no collar or vice versa).

Yes I’m thinking about going all out.
I was looking at how others with my setup did it.

Not 100% sure what sort of experience you have with installing suspension on trucks. It’s not anymore difficult than previous generations. Elka actually has an instructional write up that I followed for torque specs.

They didn’t even have them on their site yet when I ordered my kit early February. Icon UCAs were 750$ and really didn’t need anything more than the cheapest option. I had the UCAs before any other components showed up. I wouldn’t do anything different I don’t think. It was between these and Total Chaos and I just went with the cheaper.

@WrapCO thanks for the Elka link tip, Found it and it’ll make it a breeze.

from what I know (though I didn’t do it) disconnecting the Avs just makes it ‘non-functional… but it would be worth consulting a few others

Can't disconnect air ride (without perhaps a lot of work). It's the AVS shocks that can be disconnected with certain aftermarket upgrades. I disconnected the AVS shocks when I went to the TRD lift - no big deal since I never noticed much of a difference.

Morning.. To answer your question, The TRD Pro truck already has an upgraded suspension and is 1 incher higher than any of the factory truck. The Toyota TRD PRO suspension that's purchased separately will give you 3" of lift. If your looking just for 1" of lift, there are a few manufacturers out there to choose from.
