Sir, I have a temp VIN (5TFNA5DB9PX04E130) for a Tundra which was scheduled for build last Saturday, March 11. As of yesterday, it showed no progress, even though 5 days past build date. Dealer has no answer for me. Would you have any insight into this? Thank you for your assistance.

Update from Toyota,
Tundra – Est Inspection Completion 4/5/23 These are for units in FI status which is F(freight status) but on QC hold.
This was an update that was issued by Toyota.
There are other vehicles that are having a similar issue with QC and processing. OT is being offered if workers will take it. Tacomas are 4/24 est. completion and is due to a railcar shortage. Not reason given for the Tundras. Keep in mind some QC holds are still F status and not FI status. I don't have any other info other than this. These dates are tentative and subject to change.

 

Do you know, are they releasing Tundras as they are completed? or will they do them all at once?

 

I honestly don't know any more info. I would speculate that they will release them as they pass the inspection. I don't know what order that is in. Example: released by arrival date, where they are on the car or parking lot, etc. Not enough info was provided to interpret and no questions were asked. Toyota is at the mercy of the rail companies, the error in the human element and politics, I am sure.

 

Thanks for the reply, really hoping any day now. My truck arrived in "port" 3/3 and was put on hold the 8th which is after it was supposed to arrive at the dealership. I haven't heard of any "hold" status ones being released yet.

Sadly I don't have any insight. More than happy to run a VIN check for you tho. They could be waiting on parts, or a multitude of other reasons.

look like a nation wide qc hold for all trims. at least yours is only 28 days long supposedly instead othe 12-22 qc hold of 60 days.

Has anyone seen any of the QC hold trucks get released into the wild yet?
