Phone Commands without Android Auto

Good morning,
Happy Saint Patty‘s Day to those who celebrate. So if I say you hay Toyota, call Adam on his cell I get a response that he’s not in my phonebook. Or if I say call my home, it says it’s not listed, which it is.
This only happens if I’m not in android mode. Why isn’t it recognizing my command when the phonebook is in my system?
Seems the same thing with navigation I get I don’t understand. I feel like it’s one of my kids. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

This system is a little funny or quirky, but you cannot have it set to use both Bluetooth operation and Android Auto (or CarPlay)at the same time, one or the other. So check this first that you have phone selected and not AA or CP.
