Color Matching Trim

I just got a 2023 SR5 TRD Offroad, and I am looking to color match the chrome panels on the back pumper and the grille surround. What options have people used so far? Please point me to the correct thread if this has already been discussed. Thanks

 

Removed and taken for paint. I should have got the 3M done after but never did and the front is chipped and the one rear piece I chipped up too, backed into a high pile of rocks.

 

I ordered the 3 piece front grille surround and the front upper bumper in WCP to color match my truck. I used Painted OEM Parts, as Revemoto was much more expensive. I am very happy with the product and the customer service was wonderful. It took one week from the date I ordered to be shipped (free) from CO to Buffalo, NY. They have a lifetime guarantee on their work, as well.

That's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. What would be cool is if they would accept the take offs for credit. Then they could repaint those for other customers.

 

I feel like actual pictures of these parts on trucks would complete the thread.

 

I had to sell my stock parts to offset the cost.
Still have chrome handles to sell.

Roughly how much do they add for shipping?

 

The total cost for my order was $990 which included shipping and taxes. Included the 3 piece grille surround and front bumper cover. I looked at other options (wrap, paint existing parts etc), but determined that ordering the parts already painted was best. I plan on selling the existing dark chrome parts once my truck gets delivered to offset the cost. They will be in nearly new condition.

 

Who did you order from? I want the upper bumper part.

Edit: NM , I see at painted OEM parts. But I didn't see the upper bumper.

I sent an email to confirm that I wanted the front upper bumper part along with the other 3 pieces and I got an immediate response back from Sean at Painted OEM Parts. The part number listed on my invoice is 539310C140 if that helps.

The part you had linked above is just the top grille surround (mustache) piece. If I were you, I'd just send an email to explain that you would like the front upper bumper piece with the 'TUNDRA' stamp. That piece alone is $295.

 

Great information! That bumper piece is hard to find. I'm curious how that piece installs. I've seen videos on swapping the mustache but can't seem to find anything on the bumper piece.

Revemoto wants $758 just for that front upper bumper piece with the 'TUNDRA' stamp. It was a no-brainer for me to go with Painted OEM Parts.

now to decide color- should it be black to match the 1794 Trd off road grill (matte or gloss?) or wind chill pearl to match the body?

yeah hard choice they both look good

 

WINDCHILL PEARL, do not do black!!! It will make the truck look like a base model SR. Check out my build- 1794 with wc grill

 

based on looking at your profile pic, it would have looked better w/o the color match. now it looks like you have a white mustache or a pair of "( )" for your front end now

 

Agree, that's the route I went.

Everyone always goes to Sparks but I often find lower prices at other dealers, lower shipping too.

 

I think the color match is the way to go. Just looks clean.

 

That looks great- exactly what I’m going for. Is that satin black vinyl elsewhere (or is that gloss)? Do you have the vinyl name you used? How bad was the 1794 badge?

thats just the angle of the pic- see photos below- top one was my truck before bumper

(top truck in that pic is mine) Gloss black is factory on the pillars. The window trim, rear tailgate handle, etc.. are OEM pieces. Handles and mirror caps are OEM color matched, in hindsight I might have gone gloss black for the mirror caps instead of color match. 1794 badge I initially plastidipped (looked like crap) so got a set of platinum badges, took them apart and put the 1794 badge into- they are identical and an easy swap.

If i wasnt replacing the bumper I would have wrapped the lower piece as well.

Where do you get the color matched mirror caps?
