I know we have touched base on this before, but I have been building the wife a small 'oh shit' duffle bag to keep in her vehicle.
    So far I have:
    -Knife
    -Weatherproof matches
    -Emergency blanket
    -First aid supplies

...I will order some MRE's, and probably a battery / flashlight for her too.

What else? Keep in mind, this bag has to be something she may have to carry....all 4'11" 100lbs of her.

I would add a map and compass in case NAV goes out and because you will probably not ask for directions . At least she will be able to find the way home. Seriously since it is for her vehicle maybe a handheld emergency radio/beacon, small mirror, gloves, paracord........... :oldglory:

How about a small crossbow for food gathering and a signal flare?

Emergency candles. They are short and stubby but will keep a flame for like 24hrs

Just noticed a "filter straw thing" was mentioned... But even one 16oz is nice to have just in case...
