I've seen a few youtube videos of in-depth installation (and kit contents). The new front axles are definitely longer. If memory serves me right, I'd say they were at least 2-4 inches longer.

Yea the indepth install video mentions the boot looks longer but the axles seem to be same length. Was hoping for a side by side.

Hi Guys…this is my truck CDFA4FBF-74CB-4480-B667-BFB757550F6B.jpg
I have the TRD Lift kit except I have King 2.5 adjustable coil-overs and rear dobinsons springs and rear total chaos link kit.

I had to take off my front Total Chaos UCA because it was too short to use with the longer TRD lift kit axles.

I’m here to see if you guys know if a Camburg UCA with heim joints may be compatible with this TRD kit?

I noticed a significant loss of fluidity in the travel range with the switch from the total chaos UCA to the Roush TRD UCA…I even hear it sort of creaking and it bothers me. The ball joints on the high speed style kits are just so smooth.
    What are my options?
I went with Toyota extended axles to correct my CV angles and give me reliability but the Roush UCA ball joints are killing me.

I’ve called every company almost and none are willing to support the axle length of this TRD kit. Only the stock length and of course their own long travel kits which are coming out later this year.

enjoytheridedude your build looks awesome. Re UCA, before I had my TRD kit installed I was considering a hybrid build with adventure motors combining the best parts of the TRD lift kit with a mix of other parts, I’m still hoping to make some of these changes to my current setup with them when I’m down there. I am very impressed with adventure motors.

here’s what they had suggested, the UCA they had proposed were the Pro Comp Tubular Front Upper Control Arms. Perhaps this list can give you some ideas re: your UCA options. The exact part number wasn't listed on my quote, looking at the Procomp site here is what I found. https://www.procompusa.com/products/pro-comp-pro-series-front-upper-control-arms/

    Taikowaza,
Thank you I really appreciate it! I had no idea the pro-comp UCA’s were long enough…I haven’t actually seen them put a set on the tundra with the TRD knuckles and cv axles get though..I’ll have to call them and confirm. I assumed that my Total Chaos upper control arm would work as well…and when I installed everything my camper was extremely negative so much so that I could barely drive the truck. I was driving on the inner sidewalls like I was “stanced” . The dealership ultimately had to install the TRD upper control arms.

The TRD upper control arms are a full inch longer thanks standard and a full inch longer than all direct fit upper control arms…the reason the lower control arms are not changed is because the lower knuckle piece meets the lower control arm in the middle, it’s increased thickness is exactly one inch.

Camburg and Mazulla off road and even icon make UCA’s that are camber and castor adjustable with heim joints but the heim joints cannot Ben adjusted a full inch without risk of breaking or coming apart due to too little overlap of threads.

but hopefully someone decides to support this specific axle length, if not my options are either keep the TRD UCA, or get rid of the rest of the TRD kit and go to an entirety new aftermarket long travel setup.

Good morning. Is there a running list anywhere on the forum of the dealers that have experience installing the TRD lift kit on the new Tundra? I don't want to be one of the local dealership's guinea pig on the install when I get ready to purchase. Thanks!

Not sure but mine was done at Bill Kidd's in Timonium MD (north of Baltimore). Mine was the first one they did but I know the put the lift on new one to put on the lot.

Thanks for the post. My interpretation is - if you are lifting the front of your truck by 2-3 inches then you should consider dropping (eg spacers) your swaybar to keep that interaction close to stock and result in improved ride vs not dropping the swaybar. Or did I completely mess that thought up in my head lol

You don’t. I bought a $20 Amazon gps speedo that I put to left of my screen to remind me or someone else driving my truck of actual speed.

@KroppDuster first brought this matter to my attention, posts in this forum 203, 205, and 208 (awesome information), “The only real issue in using the factory end links vs the included spacers is that it will limit your front articulation while off roading. It will prevent you from using your full amount of down travel in the front suspension” and @charlieyankee88 also had an excellent post on this topic. I learned the answer the hard way by keeping my stock sway bar spacers and end links:

“1. Standard is not a skid plate drop. It is a sway bar relocation, so sway bar is outside of skid plate. This will not reduce articulation. It will give you max possible articulation while still maintaining sway bar. yes, only sway bar is outside skid.

Additional benefit to this, for actual off roaders, is you can remove the sway bar easily and put it back on without removing skid. Ditching the sway bar will give you maximum articulation off road, but not recommended for on road driving.

    2. Not relocating sway bar will limit articulation. Not sure on how much. That would require comparing before and after with both configs. Not sure anyone has done that.”
    ——

I have done this! And can compare before and after with both sway bar configs…I hereby attest that articulation is severely limited by not relocating sway bar using the kit’s spacers and end links, harsh as %*^% lol ;)

Just got the Trd lift done, really think it came out with better proportions.

35x12.5x20 ko2s , stock Trd rims and a very slight rub when fully locked.

hefty price tag for the lift but it drives incredible, really feels stable and responsive on road.

nice!! how long did it take for the install? My dealer is telling me Toyota says its a 14hr job and that is what I have to pay for. If it goes over, that's on them.

I was just quoted from one dealer $2350. They said takes 2 days. I don't know what that is in hours (16?). It seems the consensus so far has been around a 20 hour job, so 14 seems not bad.

My dealer had told me Toyota says it's a 14hr job (@ 105/hr), so I'm preparing myself to spend around $1470 for installation. I wonder if alignment is included or if that's an extra charge? My kit with shipping is $2652. Yeah, I can see myself having to order the bed step and one of those trailer hitch cargo carriers. I'm 5'5" and I don's see myself loading up a deer in the bed after the lift is installed!! LOL.

I'm 6'2", on my 22 I had the TRD lift put in and the side of the box was shoulder height. So about as tall as you are.

Is anyone able to help me out??

Do you think that I'll need to get this 2" spacer pack if I'm going with the LoadLifter 5000 airlift bags? I have the TRD lift on my 22' Limited Tundra. I almost wonder if it's overkill for the minimal lift in the back of the truck.

    Thoughts... and thank you!

Don't know if I'm lucky or not but I ordered my TRD lift from sparksparts on Tuesday 14March and got an email today along with a text from FedEx stating it shipped with an arrival date of Friday 17March. Calling my dealer in the morning to schedule the install.

I certainly will. Spoke with the dealership this morning and they will let me know if they can take it next week (mainly depending if they have a vehicle for me to use). They just completed their first install and the manager said it took them two days. Glad mine isn't the guinea pig.

Well, I'm not having luck getting tires to fit on my truck. TRD lift at the dealership two weeks ago and the Method 705 18" +18 offset rubbed on the frame with 35x12.5 Toyo ATIIIs, so Discount ordered Falken AT3s in 285/75/18 and they also rub on the frame. I guess it's time to find a place to get it chopped. Just slightly frustrating given I've read that 35s fit with that wheel setup in addition to the slightly smaller 285/75/18s for other people on the forums and FB groups.
