Yeah, I made sure it was fully cancellable. I just wish I had thought to ask before I was just waiting for the keys. I’ll definitely shop around, especially if any members have good deals.

 

Its okay, its fully refundable within 30 days of your purchase. Once you receive your packet in the mail from Toyota, you can call them and cancel. You'll send Toyota a letter statement and then it gets processed back to you in a refund.

You can choose to reapply for the VSA with any other contact that deals VSA, including the great option on this thread.

So glad I found it prior to getting my truck. Local place wanted 5295 for a 8 year $200 deductible NON Toyota warranty.

Does it matter where you get the warranty as long as it is the Toyota platinum? Can you get it from any dealer in any state and it will be honored with your local dealers?

Correct, I got it from Jerry on this forum (Kansas dealership), and confirmed with my dealer in CA that it's showing up in my Toyota vin.

 

Just picked up my 23 Tundra SR5, they wanted 3800$ for the platinum extended warranty, after reading this thread I was able to get it to 2000$ for a 7year/100,000mile warranty. Is this a decent deal? I kept trying to get it increased to a 10year but they seemed to “not be able to offer a 10year warranty..”

When should the warranty typically be purchased? Day of picking it up from the dealer? before then? 1000 miles after then?

Anytime before the original warranty is over - within 3 years.
Of course it's possible that price for the warranty will also increase if you wait longer, or who knows if Jerry will be able to offer such great deals for us.

Prices on Toyota Extra Care Warranties have not gone up yet. Just picked up a 10yr 125,000 mile for $2070. Pays to shop.
