@Mr.bee and I blew up our trucks with unnecessary fog anytime attempts. Until I wire direct off the switch or stalk I’m not gonna repeat that goof. Might go Switch-Pros since I have two front and one rear. But gonna hook up some ss3’s on the stock wiring for now.

I agree. That was a drunken rant I probably shouldn't have posted, and I apologize to @daveeasa if I came off like an asshole. I have a friend who's wife runs the entire relationship and it's like he's just there for the ride. It annoys me he can't make any decisions but I guess if he's OK with I am too.

I wired mine in with the traveller kit. And will throw another pair of lights at the factory circuit.

My hands are too big and beat up to be replacing that fuse block again. Glad that fixed it, but i wasnt against rewiring the whole headlight circuit.

    Is his name Andy? lol

My friend is somewhat of the extreme and not the norm though and I wouldn’t imply anyone here is even close to being what his marriage is like.

A lot of truth in that original post though. A lot of people are unhappy in relationships because they feel they don’t have a say. Absolutely stand up for what you want, but choose your battles. Do I want the walls in the house painted yellow? No. If my wife wanted to paint them yellow would I argue? Not very vigorously. If she really wants yellow walls and it’s important to her, it’s no big deal to me, hand me a roller. Things that are a big deal, we gonna hash it out. Wife not into bulky speakers in the living room early on, they were in there anyway, it was one of my things. I shrank them down for HT 2.0 at her request. Honestly HT 3.0 is a sound bar with sub, cause it matters less to me now.

Safe space dude. No offense will ever be taken by me.

Trust me I see all sides to my spot in life. The struggle is real with these kids. And I’ve already done 3 houses mostly my way. And I’m not dead yet, maybe only halfway dead.

I won’t rule out the possibility of some cabin in the woods to live in and a monster garage on the lot to play in. Though a theater room / garage / shop would definitely be hard to pull off, you’d have to have some awesome curtains which didn’t get dirty, some way to retract them into a container. And some way to cover the skylights cause a monster garage deserves skylights. But the floor, that’s a tough one. Needs to be concrete for vehicles and the lift but that’s not great for sound.

    Good to have dreams.

Super stupid question but wipers in stow position and the bottom of the windshield, yes? And required for cowl removal?

    Yes and yes.
Another minor thing that helped me was after I removed the nut, both the bolt and wiper arm are splined, I somewhat raised up the wiper arm to put pressure at the hinge section as I bopped the wiper arm with fist at about the hinged position. According to condition of ones wiper arm/bolt rust conditions, it may simply rock back and forth right off the bolt

    This is the ticket.

No scorecard, keeping a mental register so things stay 'remotely fair' is valid practice. Me giving up 3/4 of my shop space recently was a big sacrifice. I'm making it work, but miss all the extra room. The kids are happier having a rec area, and my wife cut her gym space in half at the same time, but has a cooler setup now. And I can use the kids rec area for music stuff now. If she would've insisted on anything else, where she selfishly got to keep all her space and the kids and I needed to adapt, I'd have been pissed. I don't do "all for one and one for none"

Marriage is a give and take. If the gives heavily outweigh the takes, unless you like being a doormat, something's gotta give. But I don't know too much about Dave's situation.

The ones you linked aren't the smart tap. Those are just the no-hyperflash ones.

FWIW: They had a data breach two Black Fridays ago, right around the time I bought mine, and my CC# got fleeced as a result. All I got from them was a "sorry, it happens". Pretty lame IMHO. But whatever.

I bitched about this recently too. I'd really, really like this option, it's the one feature I miss when I get into the truck. I don't understand, electrically, how it works in a normal system, so not sure how it could be replicated. Clearly it's be different for me and your year because my fogs are on the stalk. But either way, we'd both need a compatible stalk, something from a related model like a T4R, LC, LX, or whatever, that has the ability to tip up.

Oh snap! Is that how you guys fried your integration relays?! I thought it was weird to see you both have yours go bad.

Worth mentioning also, it *is* possible to bend your armature - or whatever you'd call it - when pulling the wipers.

The arms will actually shift up/down while off, so it's best to manually set the wipers as far down as they'll go *before* you tape the window to mark their position. This way, when you reinstall, if you pull down on it it should meet the tape perfectly and you know you've got the right spline.

I wish there was just a way to mark the spline, but it seemed pretty impossible with how obtrusive the heel of the wiper assembly is, and how it's tucked into the cowl.

Summary of part numbers, hoping this and some RTV covers my needs:

    Kick Panel Retainer (Front) 904670505122

    Cowl clips: 90080-18055
    Cowl push pin: 904670704522
    White receiver: 9046708184

Now I need some ideas on what other stupid toyota parts to buy while I'm ordering anyway...

I gotta get off my ass and do the same. I've gotta get new air and cabin filters for the '20 Highlander. I also need to do the OEM hvac freshener treatment on the Highlander, but the wife is M.I.A. at the moment, running errands.

I would think the anytime mod linked to the parking light switch would work. Probably needs a diode to isolate it.

I wired mine to work with both high & low beams (isolated via diodes) but not parking lights. It'd be simple to re-do for parking lights and would work for high & low beam as well.

Run any diodes? Were you trying something different than usual?

If anyone here is a fan of This Old House, it appears their streaming app is free to view for all seasons at the moment. At least is is for my Roku.

Funny to watch the early 80s shows with Bob Vila and how they just cut up a coal furnace covered in asbestos and knock it over with asbestos breaking up into pieces everywhere. After, they just pick it up and haul it away. No mask required….haha

Similar attitude about scraping/grinding lead paint off a house and just painting over it. There they recognize it as a hazard but just lay plastic underneath and tell you to wear a sawdust mask.

I've been without signal all weekend.

It was definitely a tourist type place but we enjoyed it. Definitely something different for us. Glad we went.

As discussed further in the thread, I got the harness from @daveeasa and it works great on my truck (01) but they both have 02 as do you. Something had to have changed in 02 that causes the integration relay to burn itself up when you do this mod.

I just didn't want anytime foglights because I didn't want to have to turn on/off another switch when turning on/off lights. I like being able to run fog lights with my hibeams too.

You could most likely run it on Crackie being that it's a 2000 but I could see your reasoning for not wanting to try it. If only it would burn out a fuse and not the whole damn integration box.

When I have a deer smooshing bumper I'm planning on just running my own circuit for the fogs with an aftermarket harness. Seems like that's the easiest approach after going through all that bullshit for OEM+ on the silver truck

I think the harness may actually be capable of blowing the integration relay without fogs attached. I think it's mostly a matter of DRL equipped trucks barfing with high beam to parking light, it's gotta be a power to ground in an unfused world.

None of my trucks have DTRL so I'd most likely be good, but as stated above. I'm gonna run my own circuit so it doesn't really apply for me.
