Put one coat of CERAKOTE on, allowed it to cure for a month, then put on a second. 20230210_172537_HDR.jpg

Which cerakote product? I saw someone asking about one of their paint products, but hadn't known anyone to use it yet

    Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant Kit.
$20 and I got 3 applications. Two on my current tundra and one on the old just before it was sold. I only had a little left for the last application, so I used a vinyl glove and sprayed it on my hand and smeared it evenly, instead of using the recommended microfiber to smear it, and that was plenty when done that way. I think I could get 5 uses if done that way.

They do recommend layering, watch the video @2:45 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN5zMxO_N-8

Also notice when he sprays the product how finely atomized it is, if there is any breeze a lot of it just blows away. They recommend smearing it evenly with a mf cloth, I spray it close to a clean new VINYL glove on my hand (not directly on my hand), and then smear it evenly so the mf cloth won't absorb the product and the wind won't blow it all over the place.

    Very nice :)

I believe in a prior post you mentioned that you allowed it to cure for a month? As a spray ceramic, I'm highly doubtful that you needed to wait that long. So....out of a 20.00 bottle, you got three applications...meaning one layer on one vehicle and two layers on another one?

Please keep us posted on the durability of this product. When it wears out, which I'm guessing would be around 3-6 months, you might consider Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Spray Wax. I've gotten 6-9 months out of a single layer application, and I think it is a better value than the Cerakote product.

Most sprays will last maybe 2 washes or so..I think. I’m no expert. Keep us posted on the beading.

Griots 3-1 lasts a hell of a long time. It holds it’s own with pretty much anything. I could easily do a Sequoia 3 times with one bottle, possibly 4 if I stretched it. There’s nothing I know of that can compete with it based on price, longevity, and ease of use.

It does indeed last a long time. I've gotten 4 smaller vehicles out of one bottle, and still have enough to get another one out of it.

Been a long, slow winter, but this weekend I'm back in full swing. Won't bother with the basic stuff...but this PPF removal from today was pretty gnarly off this 2009 Lexus (factory ppf).

Four hours. Heat gun, plastic razor, goo gone, mineral spirits. Polished and blended the PPF line with 3D One and an orange CCS pad (used an old pad to also help remove any residual residue so I could toss the pad after).

Jesus! Man, that the type of shit I get myself into but it's more interiors lol. A mess is a mess. I don't know how one would let that get to that point before finding someone to help the poor car. Good work as always! Did you coat that one too?

Nope just ppf removal, nothing else. Older couple selling the vehicle. They just bought a new Rav4 that I'll be coating in the coming weeks.

Quality PPF removed/replaced at an appropriate time interval is great. This stuff was just on entirely too long and degraded to a point where it didn't protect anything physically and was a pain to remove. There was a visible color difference from the PPF section and the rest of the hood which speaks to its UV protection capabilities. But rocks/scratches went straight through it at this point in its life.

Couple maintenance washes over the past week. All of these cars are coated. BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus in UD Pro. Telluride in Glassparency's Graphene coating. Haven't seen any of them in about a year except for the Lexus (half year). Coat your vehicles folks...they're killing it.

Worth the time and or money spent for ease of keeping clean after. I will say for winter snow and ice don't hang around very long either. Had the entire roof full of 5" wet heavy snow just slide clean off driving a block and a slow stop!
    Good work!
