Hey fellas. I went to drop the kid off at school this morning and noticed i had some water on passenger floor mat. I have not been in the car for a few days. It rained good in nor cal last night. When my AC is running I have always got the drips under the car. I believe that can be a problem for water in passenger's floorboards. I reached up and felt a little drip but it has stopped raining so chasing it might be slightly difficult until this sunday when it rains again. I will include a photo of what I found. I drove from mendo county in rain about 5 days ago in the rain so I suspect it is not all from one afternoon and evening of rain but could be wrong. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to start?

I have exactly the same leak. Haven't torn into it yet, but I'm subbed for the responses.

Windshield cowl is the usual culprit. The small plastic pop in “nuts” that the cowl screws into leak. New ones or some silicone / RTV to seal them usually solves it. Secondary possibility would be windshield seal. It’s a distant second though.

I had a leak in the area you have shown in your image and repaired it last weekend by following the instructional video in the sticky. I took apart the cowl and pulled all 8 of these clips out, cleaned off the destroyed gaskets and replaced with marine grade sealant. My leak went away.

Besides purchasing the sealant, I had to replace qty 6 of the 9046708184 cowl clips for the lower portion of the cowl. Those were very brittle and broke for me. That was $10 from my local dealer. All other fasteners I was able to reuse.

Yeah, I definitely recommend buying replacement clips, both of them part numbers are in the leak thread's cowl leak text description. Better to have leftovers than nothing. I didn't snap all mine, but couldn't figure out how to pop the cowl off without breaking a couple.
