That's exactly why I went with the Tremor. Well that and the White Oakleys don't sit right on my face.

I really disagree with that, my business partner has a 2021 Laramie nightshade and that thing is super nice inside.

White oakleys, low-pro tires, and v6's. Nobody likes an engine honking at 'em. Wail or fail, scream & cream. A vq35vhr or an inliner can be pretty impressive, all the other even firing v6's are soulless and gutless (at low rpm).

every v8 guy knows a guy with a v6 who thinks he's as fast or as capable.

looks like a rebadged bronco to me

not really feeling that at all.

A recent Land Cruiser I would take in a second over that

    I don't follow this. My V6 will smoke a Ford 5.0, Chevy 6.2, Tundra 5.7, Ram 5.7. Wait....am I the guy!?

One of those fancy model LR's had/?has? A triple turbo gas engine. Or something new & impressive. No bed no deal, unless its a high roof van.

every man needs a gun, a truck, and a horse. The dog and drill etc dont even need to be mentioned.

you are now. In highschool it was a kid with a 4.3 s10 extreme. He got beat on by a stock 5.4 4x4 ford. But would talk shit to the ponycars and fast trucks and as a passenger, i gotta admit its pretty fun to be the passenger and see 2 other folks race. especially when you're in the pass seat of the slow car.

Haha, not sure comparing an S-Dime with a body kit to a modern TT V6 is reasonable but

Yeah, I'm not sure what "domestics" means but not sure how RAM is more domestic than Toyota.

Fair enough, I had a Limited, that was my reference point. I think that's apples to apples comparison with Tundra Platinum. I think my Limited was definitely an all around nicer vehicle than the Tundra. Ironically, I traded after owning a year cause I thought it was full of problems and customer service was poor; Toyota has taught me what problems and poor service really are. I'll probably go back to Ram when it's time for a new truck.

Which Ford trim level did you look at? Must not have been a higher end Lariat/Platinum/Limited. Everyone who sits down in my (admittedly loaded) Tremor is blown away by the interior. I felt like the Tundra was super cheap feeling by comparison.

I get 17-18 and that's with 35's and 3.73s. Hell I got 16.5 on a three + hour trip last weekend with 1800 pounds of payload.

And believe me, I don't baby it.

My neighbor got Rivian. He sold it recently, but is still keeping his 2.5 Tundra.

I think he liked it overall. His wife hated it. He is just too practical to keep unpractical expensive toy for long.

Rivian's assembly quality is so poor that you can see the body panel gaps from 30 yards. Reading others, it also has some serious design defects in suspension, quality control, etc.

Gladiators are nice for Jeep Junkies but I have never been able to get as comfortable sitting in the Wrangler Platform as I could in a half ton or any number of other SUVs. "It's a Jeep thing" I guess.

I looked hard at the new Tundra to replace my 09 before deciding it just wasn't competitive enough for me. I was initially obsessed with the 6.2 Silverados but After looking at everything I ended up in my Powerboost. Best straight line performance of anything short of the hot rodded off road Trucks. Helps me miss my Challenger RT less that this is almost as
    Fast out to the 1/4.

And 7.2kw pro power on board was probably the biggest shiny object on the options sheet that tipped the balance for me. Really surprised Toyota didn't do something similar and wondering if they have it in store for the hybrid later in the cycle.

Flat load floor, shit ton of interior outlets in addition to the bed power panel, locking and collapsible under-seat storage. Smooth ride although not admittedly quite as cushy as The coil spring trucks. Electronic locking rear diff. Infotainment system simple easy to use. 18-19 mpg possible on normal mixed driving and over 20 highway with almost 600 lbs of torque.

If I were BUYING something new and had to BUY soon, I'd have to at least look at the new Gladiator. Probably all the truck I'd need for my uses.

If not for the capabilities of the hybrid I'd have likely waited for a 6.2 Chevy or GMC with the upgraded interior.

    I tested that , you didn’t miss much .

the powerboost was nicer, would have bought one likely if it didn’t break down on the test drive lol

Yeah mine is a late Dec 2021 that took a few months to get to a lot in the Covid chaos and maybe also had to wait for chips. So far for whatever reason I seem to have Dodged the common problems people are seeing with the very first Ones out in 2021 and with some of the 22s and 23s. 11k of smooth driving so far. Geico gives me 7/70 mechanical breakdown coverage in my insurance policy and that has become my audition period for new cars.

Had mixed feelings taking a previous model year but the chip shortage related decontenting that's happened since has left me with a boatload of stuff I couldn't have gotten included if I waited for my ordered '22, which would probably have become a '23.
