Passport Application

Called the passport hotline at 0700 this morning and my expected wait time was 6-7 minutes.

It is now 0730, and my expected wait time is....6-7 minutes.

Getting a bit nervous based solely on timeline. I went through the normal application process - filed it for my whole family on the 11th of January, and they all show received as of 18 January.

HOWEVER...I just realized that somehow, when I imported my data from one secure password app to another...somehow it transposed my father's SSN (who is deceased) to my son. So now I have to somehow try hard to get them to expedite the process and correct that.

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

 

you can do it online now. I did it on January 4th..still waiting to receive...ugh

Online is iffy at best. I'm trying to log in as we speak to check on the status of my renewal it's telling me my email address has invalid characters in it. The email address they use for your username that I used to start my renewal application. Suddenly it has invalid characters.

 

Oh, it says that all 3 applications are 'In Process.' Unsure how to submit a data error update online?

 

If I'm not mistaken, you can only do it online if it's *not* your first time.

I applied January 4th; they received it January 18th; and I contacted my state rep on the 9th of March. No movement. Considering I know for a fact I need(ed) to update some information on my son's passport application, and the fact that we're traveling about 7 weeks from now, I was getting antsy.

So, I contacted my senator via his 'Assistance with Federal Agencies' page yesterday a.m.. An hour later they messaged me with a Privacy Release/Information form to fill out, sign and return.

This morning the passport processing facility *FINALLY* contacted me with the form to fill out and return. Hopefully I should have them in hand with a few weeks.

 

Update: My passport and my wife's passport are already shipped. Evidently the senator's office has some serious pull.

Overnighted the correction form to the passport agency, and within a week or so it should be sent out as well.

 

@TheBeast - seriously, if you're still waiting, figure out who your senator is, then use their webpage to contact them. I almost guarantee (as with mine) there will be an 'Assistance with Federal Agencies' webpage.

Filled out the information, and it wasn't even 2 hours before they got back to me; and it's not been even 48 hours, and our passports are shipped (not counting my son's).

They also expedited our passport processing *and* upgraded us to 1-2 day shipping.
