    There’s a guy on here who drained his transmission (instead of his oil pan) and filled his truck either another 8 qts of oil. It started and ran (with ~16qts of oil), but wouldn’t drive very well due to low trans fluid.

    Yes, I learned my lesson multiple times. 8.5 always left me overfilled even with a filter replacement. I awlays use exactly 8 quarts now and it ends up right at max.

    Yeah 8.5 quarts puts the level right in the middle when cold on mine. When hot it's at the top mark
