Yep, and my 3 high output red Vleds bulbs in the 3rd brake light add to the pain lol.

I converted my cargo bulbs to 3rd brake lights so all 3 bulbs up top are brakes.

Yeah I can't use my cargo lights anyway with the bed cover that I have so I converted them. I have led strips under the bed rails though. I used the same red vinyl that I do the tail light overlays with.

It happens rarely, but has anyone else experienced where one or both of the reverse lights don’t come on?
I noticed one day pulling into my driveway and I have a security camera. I verified they fail to come on occasionally. I am in discussion with customer service on possible solutions, but nothing it working yet.
It’s a hard thing to notice without a security camera, so I am curious if anyone has looked. It could work putting it into gear 15 times and then suddenly not work the 16th time. Sometimes one light will come one, sometimes neither will.

Running lights, brakes, and turn signals all come on without fail.

By "customer service" do you mean Colton? Or did you buy a different kit?

I can't say I've ever noticed, but also haven't really paid attention. It's a switchback bulb, so I wonder if there's an issue in that.

I bought from hotshot off-road. It doesn’t say the person’s name, so I called them customer service.

The stock bulb works 100% of the time. Not sure what the issue is :(

Where do you live? As much as folks may disagree, cold climates cause premature LED misfunction... and eventually death of aftermarket LED(s)...

Fort Worth, Texas - we did have a freeze, but only a single freeze and my truck is blocked from direct wind.

Yeah I have had a good experience with them from original purchase to now. I don’t want to open a bag of worms, but it’s not something you’d notice in normal use that one of your reverse lights isn’t coming on. My concern is other drivers not having the indicator.

Waiting to resolve this issue to install my LPX kit.

Yours is "fortunately" the only one we have had with this issue. You're definitely not being forgotten though! I have an active email string going with the lead engineer at VLEDS trying to see if we can replicate it, and kind of figure out where to start in terms of active troubleshooting. The fact that you're getting intermittent action (sometimes left, sometimes right, sometimes both) is really what throws us for a loop.

I'll have something for you to formally try by Tuesday the 7th. I apologize that it's taken me a little longer to get back to you than I'd like.

I was just going to tag you @memario1214. I have been using Vleds since 2012 and have never heard of anything like this. Just an idea @Trentimus but have you disconnected the connectors to check for looseness, any moisture, etc? That area on these trucks does get wet quite often. I had some brake light sockets rust out the contacts on my 2013 due to that.

Honestly, we might have a bent/loose pin scenario at the gray connectors... @Trentimus that is one thing that is easy to check. I'll actually fire you off a couple of those reverse connectors as well for you to swap in. I'll double check my work before they go out the door as well.

We'll continue to work on a resolution on the back-end though for you.

I have had that happen a couple of times with mine and only happened when i was in reverse then put it in drive and right back in reverse. Otherwise they have been flawless.

That was the first time I noticed it happen, but then I started checking for it in my security camera. It’s wildly inconsistent and not sure exactly why it happens.

No sweat. I'm just very sensitive to customer concerns as we're consumers here too. I hate when I get left out in the dark when stuff comes up so I do my best to not operate that way. :)

    Not far off

I wasn't expecting such a vast brightness difference. From "can that guy even see I'm slowing down" to "I better not drive near a USAF test range for laser-guided weaponry." So I made a nerdy video. Maybe someone will find it useful. See it's not pink like in the cell phone picture on the last page. This camera does a lot better with color. The turn signal helps gauge how much the camera dims the picture with the brighter lights.

Mad scientist night. Think the leds can tolerate some snap-on deglarifiers? Blocking the direct light from the bulb reduces a lot of the blinding effect but it's still brighter than stock.

Would only do the two pair of red tail/stop. Taming the beast so to speak

The bottom cap I nailed first try. The top one was a challenge. This is iteration 7. It has to be snug to the lamp and slip fit thru the housing hole to be strong enough.
