Unfortunately, I officially got the word that my 17 Tundra is totaled. I was rear ended and the damage was around $26k to fix; new bed, frame, etc. I put a lot of time and effort into that truck, so naturally I’m angry about the whole situation. But the truck did its job and took the brunt of the impact and no one was hurt. Went and got all my stuff off of it yesterday, so hopefully I can find another good 2.5 Gen to put these mods on. Sorry for the loss. It does suck when a person puts so much care into a vehicle and something like this happens.

Nobody was hurt, main thing and hopefully you can find another really clean 2.5 Gen.

I'm sorry for your loss. That is my favorite color Toyota makes. I plan on painting my 66' Mustang the same color when I am done with the body work.

I fear the same situation you are in. I have put a ton of work/mods into my 07' and if someone ever hits me hard (especially because of it being 15 years old) it will most likely total out. I don't look forward to all the work getting them off. Did you do it at the tow/impound yard or did you have it towed to your residence to make it easier?

I had to do it in the parking lot of the body shop. I asked if I could take it since it was driveable and I only live a couple miles from the shop, but they said it’s too much liability. Which I get. So I just loaded all my tools and a buddy helped me get all my stuff.

Sorry man! Its kind of an awful time for that to happen too, every new vehicle is so damned expensive and unavailable. Glad everyone is okay though.

Let me guess, the person who hit you was playing on their phone.

I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat with my truck, I was rear ended a little over a month ago. Still have two weeks to go until it gets into the body shop. Mine looks worse than yours, I really hope they don't total it out. Although you were hit directly, mine was swiped. I hope you are able to find a great replacement.
