My clock stopped keeping time, if I set the time it will be off about 20-45 minutes the next morning. I saw on another forum there is a TSB, but was not able to locate it. I searched this forum and only came up with threads for the clock resetting to 1:00. Anyone know what the deal is or can direct me to a thread I have missed?

    Thanks.

Digital clocks keep time by the electric pulses. I’m assuming the truck clock uses the same method. Maybe your battery is going out and sending a voltage that is a little off. If not, then I don’t know.

I put in a Kenwood aftermarket radio, and ever since then the time on the clock has been way off. For some reason for weeks my radio shorted out and would not come on, and then the clock worked pretty well. When I changed batteries last month, the radio shocked back into working and now the clock is off again!

On a weird note and maybe related I recently changed out the radio in my 2015 for a newer better factory radio and the clock in this one is only set by a seperate GPS antenna and signal attached to the radio? What an idiotic idea!
So before I figured this out I could not set the clock at all.

Battery is possibly being drained by the radio. Check the grounding points on it, it did it to my car the ground would wiggle loose and my clock would start slipping too. My 07 clock is usually 5 min fast, but every now and then I do see it start to slide back so I take it to work to make sure I'm keeping the battery somewhat charged. My advice is check your grounds, and have the battery checked to make sure its not bad. Batteries could sit on a shelf for months at a time and are often sold a couple years after they're manufactured, so keep that in mind.

I checked the battery and ground connections which are tight. I browsed through the list of 2007 TSBs and didn't see one for the clock - seems like what I read about that was a suggestion of a TSB on one forum based on someone who had asked if there was one in a different forum. In a tundra talk forum people had success setting the time with the ignition in the "ON" position. Funny enough, the manual specifically states that the ignition switch must be in the "ACC" or "ON" position when setting the clock (pg 399). After thinking this over a little more, I bought the truck before daylight savings and I seem to remember setting the clock while driving... we'll see if this works.

Old thread revisited…my clock freezes when I plug my phone into the usb or maybe it isn’t related??? Everything else works ok. Anyone else have this problem? Btw it’s a 2021 tundra

The clock likely keeps time off a crystal oscillator. If you have a USB charger that is really cheaply made that backfeeds a lot of high frequency junk into the 12V power distribution system, a frozen clock is certainly plausible.

I left my phone off of the USB charger. Didn’t even have it with me and after 6 minutes the clock freezes. I’ve repeated that scenario 3 times in the past few days with similar results. I’ll take it to the dealer for a look see. Thanks for the response!
I use the provided USB cord from Toyota so if it’s cheap I guess they need to upgrade. Ha!

Any updates on this? My clock freezes every time I drive for more than 10 minutes.

The clock on my 2008 Tundra hasn't kept the correct time in the 15 years I've had it but it just gets off by4 or 5 minutes every six months or so.

Update: I need to replace the clock assembly. But, I haven’t. I bought a boat instead. Seems to have done the trick because now I don’t look at the clock anymore!
