Ms Patriot and I noticed Lowe's had this fire pit on sale for $169 normally $200. Got home and started working on it at 11:30. At 1:00 pm we were done with the install. Leveled our soil and sand and used pavers for a base. It will be a nice place to chill this fall with a beverage and tell really tall Tundra tales. Nothing super fancy, but will make a nice fire pit.

After finishing one project, I had (3) steel bowls, about 1/2" thick and 40" across. They were pressure test caps for a water line. Makes a nice fire pit! I welded a shelf on one side and a support in the middle for a cast iron grill.

@Patriot Dave, for us, sipping a little and sharing a good seegar around the fire pit has been some excellent times. I'm sure you will love it!

Thanks Pvarela07, I am thinking honestly more like two hours. I did have the area partially prepped. I did not glue the blocks in the event I decide to move it. For now it's not going anywhere.

Looking great! I had reservations about using landscaping block for a fire pit, but after building it and running some stupid hot fires in it for a few years, I haven't seen a single issue. Hope your pit brings you many years of outdoor comfort drinking drinks and telling stories of other times you drank drinks.

Had to order a 40" spark arrestor for the new fire pit! Mods I like it!

Should work out fine....the perimeter is 44" (w) This spark arrestor flips up and allows wood to be fed.
    Gotta love Amazon!

Spark arrestor for the fire pit arrived yesterday. A good wipe down with alcohol and fresh coat of high heat resistant paint may give us a little longer use. Probably keep it in the basement when not in use. Was happy to see that my measurement and choice of a 44" arrestor was spot on. Gotta love Amazon. I will laying a few rolls of centipede sod around the foundation tomorrow to finish it up.

    image.jpg

Happy..something just relaxing about sitting next to a fire in the fall and even early winter.

I've had the pit since we moved in, but did the surround this year. Hell of a difference with bugs and debris with the gravel.

Cleared the way to lay Centipede sod tomorrow morning....it will then be a wrap for now. The bubbler is one of the foundation drainage pipes, been dry since we built our home. (40) Bluberry bushes in the background.
