Hybrid Tundra in Edmonton?

Just wondering if anyone in the Edmonton area on here might have a hybrid Tundra that I could take a look at?

I hear hybrid model wait can be up to 1-2 years in Canada, I haven't seen many hybrid Tundras in south western BC.

 

I'm not sure that's true, I was just at a couple dealerships today checking things out and saw a few hybrids (capstone and platinum) just no TRD Pro's which is likely the model that is delayed.

 

Good to know, Are you planning on upgrading to hybrid?

 

I don't think so to be honest. Although I would love the extra power, the additional cost and marginal fuel economy increase just doesn't make sense for what I need. I have an SR5 TRD Offroad and have been pretty happy with it, minus some minor things here and there.

 

SR5 long bed TRD? Unfortunately in Canada we get the de-tuned engine on the short bed SR5.

 

Yep it's the long bed TRD, really it's de-tuned? In what way? Perhaps you just get a smaller fuel tank on the 5.5' box?

 

No, long bed has the 389 HP engine but the short bed SR5 only comes with the 348 HP.

 

Wow crazy, I had no idea. For me the short bed wasn't an option as I haul camping gear/hunting gear and just love having the longer box.

Is that the trim level your ordered? SR5 TRD Offroad with the short box?

 

Unfortunately we don't get many options, Bottom one is a short bed limited <--- This is what I ordered.

 

You aren't wrong, if I was in the US, I would have opted for the premium package on the SR5, just to get the larger screen and I think softex leather. The other additions I would have preferred were the led bed lights and tow mirrors.

That's what I thought as well.

I have one in BC if you come this way. Also check South Pointe Toyota in Calgary, for some reason they dont seem to have any problem getting them.

I ordered one 14 months ago and still has yet to show up, so I would say thats pretty true. I waited so long I found one on a lot and bought it

 

Hey Myke,

I have been waiting 14 months + for my Trd Sport to get here. I have one on order at Wem and another at Toyota on the trail.

Both the Trd Sport and Trd Offroad have the SR5 features of the larger engine and fuel tank. The caveat is it must be the Crewmax, the double cab apparently in the SR5 does not.

Hopefully the Tundra recall gets lifted soon and my truck finally arrives.
