Hey guys, I bought this tundra for super cheap and for a great deal to, so I’m building it up as a little side project street truck, the only problem is it’s the v6. I want to start tuning it though and besides of unichip I haven’t seen much as in tuning possibilities, any luck finding tuning solutions for first gens?

also if there isn’t my second question would be could I swap a Tacoma ecu of similar year into my truck? If not what could I do while keeping the 4.0 and preferably NOT swapping engines

Toyota ecus are notoriously difficult to crack. I'm almost positive the 4.0 ecu hasn't been. And don't waste your money on superchips/unichips or any of those. Snake oil.

I have seen YouTube videos and I have a friend who bought one, both showed pretty good gains for the unichip

If you find one that is significantly better like custom tunes do for Ford, Chevy, etc. then please let everyone know. Pretty good anything means not worth it and probably a canned tune.

v6? @bmf4069 is on target: find a TRD supercharger, or other, and associated wiring and componentry

Speaking of tuning anyone here heard any good news on Orange Virus? They say they support the 2UZFE and other Toyota engines. However there are no licensed Orange Virus tuners that I know of in the south.

Once I have my motor back together I'm planning on using them entirely, removing my unichip and throwing the stupid 650cc 9th injector in the trash. I'm probably gonna push it to its limits considering I plan on tuning it for big cams, a blower and retaining vvti.
