It was for me. With the Volvo max valve the change is clean and easy. YMMV

Toyota just put a regular spin on oil filter. For the love…

Achievement unlocked - after 2 Tundras over 15 years and countless oil changes, I can say on the last one I only leaked a few drops of oil on the floor that were quickly cleaned up. A good part of that was due to the controlled flow from a Fumoto. Another big part was a screw on filter drain thing.

Can you unscrew your drain plug, drain a gallon of hot oil into an empty gallon container, replace your drain plug, then drain another gallon into another jug, etc, until empty, without spilling a drop? (of course you have to know when the valve is open or closed, hehehe)

One of these goes a long way in that regard

I have one of those, love it. When the gush of oil comes splashing out of my Tundra, it does an AMAZING job of sending waves of warm oil fanning out across a large area, getting everywhere all over and under the truck.

So far, I've got you guys beat. I forgot to tighten the oil filter cap on my wife's old BMW X3 once. The canister is on top of the engine. When I had her start it up to back it off the ramps, oil pumped out all over the engine bay and the driveway. That took a full day to clean up and left a huge stain on the driveway. I had to sell the house and move out of shame.:D

I use the same one. I attach a hose to the fumoto valve that ends right above the surface of the pan. For the first few seconds, I direct the hose into the opening of the reservoir to avoid splashing.

I still use it with the valve so I can just toss it in the back to take it for recycling:popcorn:

I have done a few oil changes and never made a mess from the oil pan drain plug. The mess always came from the oil filter housing.

What is the correct part number for the Fumoto valve? Down to my last free oil change and probably going to start doing them myself
