What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Believe this is for the actual head, not the valve cover. The valve cover should do fine with this pattern as well though.

 

That I agree with, as it is with many items we torque, for example wheel lug star pattern sequence. I assumed it was cylinder head cover sequence given it mentions "Roof" of cylinder head. In any case, cross pattern sequence is the point.

 

Got it fixed, I got them taken about 5 years ago. I put a claim in for my last set. I have full coverage tho.

 

Went to a muffler shop, got a sleeve put on for $150. They even welded on some rebar supports for that price. I’ll post a picture, pretty basic cage to help make it difficult.

And better yet, the extra supports are great too! Will take 'em way longer and it'll be way more noisy to cut it off again. And even better still, the fact you don't need to buy new OEM cats for 10x what you paid to sleeve is a win-win-win!!

 

Lots to do before T2S. Currently the driveline shop is cutting my rear driveshaft to instal a slip joint behind the center support bearing. I think you 4WD folks have one already...
Also gets a new center bearing and upgraded u-joints.

I went ahead and ordered the cat shield for added protection. Apparently they are on back order. My confirmation email even mentions it.

Possibly but it’s just a deterrent. Can’t go wrong with both tho.

I also plan on tracing it out and making one for my buddy’s sequoia but in a thinner metal

Been hearing a clunk in the front end of crackie for the last couple days or so on acceleration or deceleration. Finally found it after looking at everything. It's the one side I let ole red do... if I hadn't caught it my whole truck coulda been FUCKED!!! I've been running that truck hard the last few days too. Speeds in excess of 90 or more...

What are your alls thoughts on the bushings? Seems to me I can just tighten up the driver side control arm and see if it still rides good, or I can remove and see if the slop has caused bushing failure... I don't like either option.

Ya just tighten it up. I drove with mine loose for a while, mines a TC with poly, but you should be fine I think.

 

Poly bushings are pretty gd rigid. I doubt you'll have an issue. I don't see any signs theres any damage, but we're limited to a couple angles here.

I stay torque to spec and go. And whoever 'ole red' is, they need a hollerin.

 

You know ole red... monkey on the back. Anyways non-issue now. Just got home. Time to find where my torque wrenches got off to.
