    You may want to rethink "Throwing" the nails out the window. That is premeditated. You could be charged several ways, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and God forbid they crash because of a blowout and are injured or die now you can be charged with attempted manslaughter, manslaughter or premeditated murder.
    I would just slam on the brakes and let them hit you. Now you can sue them for hitting you. Just remember the animal that ran in front of you got away, that's why you stopped abruptly.
