I was looking around for a pro grill and came across this website selling just the TRD Pro Insert:
Tundra TRD Pro Grille | 2014-2021 Toyota Tundra Aftermarket Grill (highcountryoffroad.com)

I have a 2016 Platinum so I already have a color match surround. This seems like an option to keep that and simply swap out a new insert for less $. Too good to be true?

I searched and didn't see any mention of this grill on the site which seems odd. Has anyone tried one?

That seems like a lot just for the insert. I'd check FB marketplace first

I agree. While cheaper, there is no painted shroud so I would have expected it to be even less.

I am however curious if anyone has picked one up

This grill comes with the garnish, which if you buy OEM you would need to buy that separately.

Some of the aftermarket garnishes are hit and miss though. Some work, some do not.

Yep, I have heard that. I had an aftermarket garnish on my pro grill when I had my Tacoma and never had any issues with it.

Yeah it's more frustrating than anything. Kind of like the AJT relocation kit. I just removed mine and installed the Jomax. Not an error sense.

Off topic, but what is your opinion after having both kits? Angle of sensor or thickness of cover affecting sensor?

It appears that the install and angles are the same. The AJT cover is 1/8" thick and the 2nd "backplate" is another 1/8". The Jomax that I have is 1/16th. With the AJT, I was getting a "Clean sensor" initially after install. After that the PCS light would come on randomly every couple of days. I have not had a single error with the Jomax. I do have some 1/16" ABS that I am going to cut for a couple of guys to try on their AJT to see if it helps them. The first 3 pics are the AJT. You can see the difference with the Jomax in the last one.

Which Era? Was this the 2019 TRD Pro grill? The seems like a heck of a deal for a color matched 2019 Pro grill

I should also note, I have a 2016 so no TSS to worry about. I am planning to create a custom insert for the slot with my 3d printer that mimics the rest of the grill's appearance.

Right on. I like the older version, but prefer the new era
