I purchased my first Toyota pickup as a freshman in high school - a base model 1989 single cab pickup. It survived high school and teen driving, 100's of ski trips, and about a 1/2 dozen crashes. Still have it!

For most my adult life I've been driving a 97 Chevy pickup i bought from a friend who needed money. It has started to nickel and dime me to death, along with some more expensive repairs. I don't really trust it to go anywhere long distance and it's not exactly fun to drive on the interstate.

I have always wanted a newer Tacoma or Tundra and finally came across a 2020 Tundra TRD off road SR5 in Cement with 23k miles. The owner wanted 48K originally and we haggled back and forth for over a month. Finally agreed on 35K.

Brought it home a few days ago. As it was a snow storm when I looked at it and drove it - I spent today washing it and examining it, expecting to find some dings, chips, scratches, etc etc. To my surprise - Notta! Aside from some hard water spots ... I'm also convinced you could throw a hamburger against that Cement paint and not be able to see where it hit if you were standing about 6 feet away.

Excited to finally have a new to me Toyota again. Looking forward to doing a few mods and talking / meeting you guys!

Hey neighbor!

The chrome grill drives me crazy! So I want to delete that, but I don't want the PRO insert, I'd like to keep the honeycomb middle with Toyota emblem - concrete upper and lower bulges.

Cement bumper ends as well - (not covers)

Chrome delete the pieces around the cup holders and shifter - you know super important things like that.

Im sure there are much more useful and performance related mods I should be considering, but I haven't really dove into that aspect of things yet.

You will enjoy this site, plenty of good information for maintaining your new Tundra. Purchased my 2019 Nov 2018 and now has 35,000 miles. Love the truck and plan on keeping it for another 20 years!

from a 04 2wd V6 tundra to

18 tundra 4x4 limited crewmax limited trd. The 04 was a strong little monster for what it was

 

Looks like the old one was in great shape!

Had got it repainted same color and new bfg all terrains with level front

Welcome! And agreed regarding getting rid of the chrome up front asap. Just doesn't look good on cement. It was one of the first things I did when I bought mine (though I did go with the pro grill)!

Seems as though I didn't do too bad on the price? Although used truck prices are definitely coming down in this area.
