Grants and scholarships are the way. As a girl she will have an edge there. Your boy might be a little more screwed, especially if you and your wife have decent income. You get disqualified if your parents make too much, because for some stupid ass reason people think it's the parents job to pay for their kids rather than the kids being able to earn it through performance in school.

 

How long has he been on that path? I wanted to be a pilot from about age 6, and it never wavered. If he's been locked in for a few years, odds are he's not changing his mind.

 

Airforce into LEO would be awesome! Even if he doesn't fly, he can enjoy the aviation.

 

This is happening globally now on the commercial side. Has nothing to do with quotas and everything to do with a lack of qualified candidates that meet “legacy” requirements. A lot of countries are lowering the flight hour requirements for becoming a first officer and also then moving to the captain seat.

 

Though those are factors, agree to disagree on the quotas.

 

Weather finally cleared enough and the roads are open, so hopefully our techs can get out there and get some of the problems fixed today. Fingers crossed that they can get some of it done before todays storm hits.

 

Should be more snow for us today. Maybe you'll get some. Get that extra cardio from shoveling. Get the kids in on it. Good for them.

Nah, I work tomorrow. Wednesday I will be moving snow in the yard for my poor little old lady dog. She's been a trooper, but I need to make it easier for her. Going to suck. So I hope Thursday I can get down there. Thing is, trying to find out if anyone has anything in stock has been a joke, and I'm not making a hundred phone calls.

Yeah, I gotta break up some ice by the bottom stair. She hates stepping on it because it's cold, so she'll stand there until her feet are cold and then try and it's just miserable for her. Hasn't been an issue until the last day or two.
