Is there a way to bypass the safety override, so that I can adjust my rear up higher at all times? I find it annoying that the rear end slams down onto the bump stops on larger bumps and undulations. Also curious about this as I plan on installing coilovers and it would be convenient to raise the rear without having to buy new springs.

    Thanks for any help.

There’s a whole thread on this about adjusting the airbag control levers.

@Skidmarcx OP. I have same suspension. With truck off crawl under rear of truck in front of the rear axle. There is a height adjustment arm coming off a sensor on each side. With 10mm wrench loosen the locking nut and slide the bolt to the bottom of slotted arm. Tighten and thats it. Asjust both sides the same. It took mine a couple start and stop cycles of the motor to adjust. You will gain 1.5 to 2 inches. This will stop the bottoming out of the axle rubber bumpers on the frame and give some rake to the stance. If you can’t figure it out or find the other thread, let me know and Ill get some pictures for you. It really improved the ride over big bumps with no more banging.

I read up on this prior to getting my Platinum. And for the life of me, cannot figure out why both sides don’t match out of the factory??? Feel like there has to be a good reason….
So, I tried to get the dealership to fix before I drove home & they said they need a complaint first before they can address the TSB. I call BS.
I measured both wheel wells & there is about a 1.5” difference. D/S sits lower & I will likely fix it myself, but shouldn’t have to. I want a rake, as I plan on towing.

A complaint of “please make sure both sides of my truck are the same height prior to me paying for it” should suffice :D

Mine were set at different positions from the factory as well. The gas tank is on one side so maybe to compensate for the extra weight when its full. I haven’t measured each side since I adjusted the sensor arms. Maybe truck is not level with both adjusted exactly the same.

My 1794 height adjustments came at different settings from the factory. Prior to making the adjustments the truck would hit the bump stops at the slightest road undulation or bumps. After several adjustments I was able to get the rear height to 38 inches when measured from the ground to the lip of the rear wheel well. ( the passenger side adjustment bracket is a tad lower than the drivers side) . The truck now rides very smooth and I am yet to hit the bump stops.

I appreciate the info, I haven’t actually made any measurements as of yet, my complaint is strictly the bottoming out

Tldr you have two options for hitting bump stops with air suspension:
    1. Take to dealer for TSB-0070-22 and they’ll adjust under warranty and set to spacing of 35-45mm per spec. Note for the folks debating here that the TSB clearly says it should be an equal gap side to side
    2. DIY adjust the control arms and it just takes a few minutes to adjust. You can stay within spec or go higher and essentially have it stay at H even while driving above 18mph

    the choice is yours!

I decided to do it myself. Very easy to do and I just don’t trust the mechanics at my local Toyota dealer. I agree with the previous post that it’s a very simple procedure plus I like the satisfaction that it’s done correctly. If the factory didn’t set the ride height correctly I seriously doubt that the dealer would do it correctly.

Thank you sir! You're a life saver. I was super pissed after leaving the dealer and and every damn bump I was hitting the bump stops. Super easy fix after what you said to do. Thank you for saving me a trip to the dealer and the aggravation. I owe you a beer! Thanks again.
