It's too late, (if I wanted to switch) they already shipped which is insane on a freaking weekend!

 

As others noted a custom tune isn’t needed but recommended, since the magnuson one usually leaves much to be desired. You’re past the point of getting the 3/36 warranty with the magnuson unfortunately. I’d rather not have the warranty though and have the ability to mod and tune it as I see fit without fear of voiding the warranty anyway. Even just getting a custom tune unfortunately voids that magnuson drivetrain warranty is my understanding.

 

I haven't seen one on mine, anyone else?

3URs don't have EGR.

 

I know of one gx460 in the US with a supercharger. It uses a Harrop TVS1900 made for the LC200 without EGR and required some custom modifications in regards to the EGR crap. This was done since no one makes a kit for the GX460.

 

I briefly saw 10 psi today on the boost gauge, 25 degrees outside. On the stock intake I never saw over 8 and only for a fraction of a second. Now it’s a relatively steady 9 above 4500rpm.

 

Is that the one at SDHQ?

Well, I guess this is good timing for a pulley upgrade since my coupler seems to be making the rattling noise now. For those of you that changed the coupler yourself how bad of a job was it? I've read the instructions and watched Viktors 90 minute youtube on it, but would like some real world feedback from someone that is not a mechanic. Wondering if I should attempt to tackle or just find a shop that would install everything (smaller pulley, replace coupler, install bigger fuel pump and injectors). Any idea of labor hours for all that?

Edit: which coupler is the best replacement? SCOL Jon Bond, or ?

 

I ordered the pulley puller. I'd be willing to share it if it's needed.

 

I’ll be doing mine here this spring since it’s making noise also. I went with the green zz performance unit that @snivilous mentioned. I’ll be doing the pulley probably at that time also.

 

I'll be sending out for quotes from a handful of places tomorrow for the Sniv Speed Shop pulleys. Went to an off-road show in SLC this weekend and had interest from people there with tundras. Time to just pull the trigger and do it myself.

Maybe expand to Harrop and the new Magnuson 3100 then too.

 

What would you like to know? Just had it installed on the old man’s rig and will be seeing how it does. Should be more efficient than the roots style. I can tell you that dealing with whipples been a pain in the ass since a few parts were missing in the kit. But I’ve sold and installed whipples on other platforms and they do run very well. More real world info coming once the truck gets picked up. But as of late customer service and qc not great

 

I looked at the way Victor did it in his video, but in the end I just followed the directions from Magnuson. Take your time and it's no biggie.

Thanks for the response. I think I'm going to swing by Westcott Designs this week and see if they'd we willing to do the whole package (install smaller pulley, injectors, fuel pump, and replace the coupler). They did my original install, but not sure if this would be something they'd take on. Other option is to try Dyno Comp which I've heard good things about and see what they would charge. If done at Dyno Comp I could probably get my retune done there as well. More to come this week...

Which coupler did you replace it with? I've seen the ZZ performance and SCOL recommended. Hoping the replacement will last more than the original did (31K miles).

Did you find all of the sticker pack? Like gas tank sticker for 91 only, belt routing, ect? Or just that one?

 

We moved offices at work about a month ago, but I primarily work from home and go in the office just 1 day a week. I knew the new office was close to Dyno Comp, but we are really close! Just looked it up and we are under a mile away from them. I'll be able to swing by and get their input on Wednesday.

 

Just that, I have been tuned for 91 only for over a year so it's easy to remember.

Didn't know there was a belt routing one, I'd like to have that.

I put the Premium Fuel Only decal on the dash. I think I have the warranty stuff in a file.

Negative. I dug out four install manuals that I have (3 TRD, 1 Maggie) all 2014+ and not one of them has part numbers for that. No part number on the envelope that the warranty cards were in either. And I found the red TRD logo sticker.

Not sure what happened. Truck ran fine this morning to the meet. Then going to get lunch trailer brake error came on, check engine light is on, fuel pressure is at like 15! I just had it started and was adjusting the AEM FPR, but the pressure didn't seem to change on the gauge. Oh and for some reason yesterday my MPVI2+ stopped being able to connect to.bluetooth. on a break now, but have a super cheap odbii connector I'll try next.to see.l what it can read.

 

That sucks, my MPVI2+ stopped communicating with my preferred laptop until I updated the year+ old firmware on another laptop (love having numerous machines) Hopefully it is an easy fix.
