I just got my first oil change away from the dealership at 25k miles
They pumped out 10 quarts of oil? Should have been 7.7 quarts

Has anyone else had this happen yet?

"Away from the dealership" implies to me that he's, well, not getting his first change, but his first not at the dealership.

I guess so, wasn’t clear. Don’t know why then stating the mileage would be relevant?

I had free oil changes for the first. 20k miles at the dealership
I wonder if the dealers vacuum rather than drain the oil?
Maybe a new tech vacuumed out 6 quarts only and then added 7.7 back in

What scares me is that it appears the OP hasn't checked his oil level between oil changes.

OK, got it. I would keep that paperwork and then document with your home dealer in case you have any possibly related issues later. I haven’t heard of service depts vacuuming instead of draining, except for some euro brands. Hope no harm was caused.

You can’t even fart in this truck without a sensor going off they really don’t have one in there that sets off an alarm in the oils overfilled :frusty:

Could be that they did a "flush" where they run extra oil through the motor and drain it before the final fill, hence the larger number.

Stupid stuff like that also makes my look forward to changing my own oil later today.

What’s the matter? Don’t have enough gas money to drive a 1st or 2nd gen Tundra? :boink:
