Gettin old....

My wife and I have been sleeping on a waterbed for a little over 40 years now. We had a cat once that caused a couple of leaks, but those were easily fixed with a drop of superglue.

As for the heater, the last time I had heater problems I installed two. If one fails, I can replace the bad one at my leisure.

Any time my wife and I travel we have to sleep on a standard bed. We always look forward to getting home to our waterbed. The older we get, the more important the warmth and support of our waterbed becomes.

 

Columbia record house and 12 CDs for a penny to buy, was it 3 more? at full price via the mail.

I only remember because a friend of mine missed his payment and ruined his credit for 7 years.

 

Pretty screwed up way to ruin your credit....but yeah i remember bmg.

 

Pretty sure that's how I got a credit ding too

 

BMG was a better deal than Columbia House.

 

Yeah it was, Still rremember my first cd...Jeff Beck Flash only because that was what i was listening to testing out the Klipsch speakers at their store....shit 40 years later have 5 rf7 II's that Rock.

HA! I did that deal with both Columbia and BMG three or four times EACH. I would buy the minimum then cancel, the use the other service, wash, rinse, repeat. I had a couple hundred cassettes, THEN a couple hundred CD's. I wish I had held onto them. Some are probably worth some money now.

 

Junior high Typing class for me. Everyone had to take typing in Jr High so we were prepared to type reports for High school assignments.

 

Couple things I’ve noticed:

I’m one of the old guys in my dept.
I say movie lines, nobody gets.

I was talking about the actor Victor French this week. They had no idea who I was talking about or the shows he was in.

 

I am hiring younger employees who not only don't know some movie lines, but have no clue and never heard of movies like Office Space, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Breakfast Club, Lost Boys, Apocalypse Now, Purple Rain, the original Evil Dead...

 

I don't either and I'm 52.

 

Your kidding right ? How could you not know of "The Breakfast Club", that movie defined a whole generation...classic just like Apocalypse Now.Never seen Purple Rain or Evil Dead., so I'm right there with ya on that.

We hired an 18 y. o. kid a few years ago that had never seen Smokey and the Bandit.

I'm 49, and I love music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's

 

I was born in '75, and the only movie on that list I've watched is Office Space. Heard of the others, never watched them. I was always more into Mel Brooks, Hal Needham type works growing up plus most stuff with Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Leslie Nielsen, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and Gene Wilder in them.

 

I have to mention a few classics: The Bridge over the river Kwai, Dr. Zhivago, 2001 The space odyssey, Tarzan with Johnny Weistmeiler (sp), and “the fly”.

 

I know I'm old now but I don't think that even when I was younger I'd have been into this

 

Yep, sad to hear Raquel Welch died. I only saw her in one movie, "Mother, Jugs, and Speed", a film about ambulances. Yeah, it's a crappy movie - but in a Raquel Welch Film Festival they'd show it.
