Found this today. Interesting how they have air pockets a throughout this glass bottle. Looked like dust at first.

Yesterday's finds. The one on the right I've had before, and it's really nice. The one on the left I'm eager to try.

Picked this up this past Sunday. Had a glass during the Super Bowl. I just missed the drop, otherwise it would be a bottle of Stagg…56E395BE-9862-4897-9237-5DF9F8F2ECA4.jpg

A great wheat beer and a 100% wheat mashbill whiskey.

If you haven't tried Reservoirs 100% mashbill offerings I highly recommend them. The wheat is magical. The corn is... like sweet fire. Neither are for the timid.

    Prost!

I picked up a bottle of the Michters Toasted Barrel finish Sour Mash. Going to do a taste test soon with some friends of each of the Michters side by side. Sadly I didn’t get this one at retail but it was still a fair price. B375FD1A-3739-41F3-864D-DD00272E6DA2.jpg

Went w/something a bit different tonight...

Not one of my favorites, but it has a nice smooth and mildly peaty flavor.

While out for a nice dinner the restaurant I was at had most of the BTAC. So I was able to buy the remaining portion of the George T. Stagg bottle for a lot less than secondary prices.

That's about how much I have left in mine! I was fortunate enough to win the VA ABC lottery a few years ago when I first got into whiskey/bourbon...I just kept drinking it because it was so good! Needless to say, it went from a full bottle to where it currently is in a very short while, and haven't touched it since lol. It will be a sad day when I finish it because I know what they go for secondary, and I'm not about that life anymore! A little over, fine, but I'm over the mortgage payments for some of these.

About 6 or 8 of us had a little bourbon sampling last night, each brought a bottle or two. Jack single barrel barrel proof hands down favorite, with Belle Meade and Uncle Nearest 100 proof getting favorable reviews. The Smokewagon uncut the younger had a good start but the finish lingered so long it turned people off. This particular bottle of Evan Williams was not enjoyable, which is too bad because the 2011-2012 barrels were great.

I thought the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof was good when I had it. I've alway wanted to try the Jack Daniel's Coy Hill.

I have seen the EC 18 year a number of places but never a Coy Hill. Not even "sorry I sold it last week" no one that I asked had even heard of it.

    Fresh crack this evening.

I was VERY fortunate a couple years back my mother in law stood out in line (VA ABC) to try and get one of the allocated bourbons they were releasing that usually are lottery only, and she was able to get me a bottle of EC18. Christmas came early that year!

Will do! Reviews around the internet are good, but the locals haven't caught on. We have a lot of this in various DABC stores in the state at normal retail. I might take a sip tonight.
