I finally parted ways with my 2007 Tundra SR5 CrewMax after many great years of service. At 212K miles it was showing it's age ( I counted 12 items that were either worn out or broken) and I've been itching to replace it. I lost confidence a few years back in it's ability to reliably tow our trailer more than a few hundred miles from home.

So I replaced it with a Tundra Crewmax 1794 HV 4X4. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. I need to go off to school to learn how to use all the doo-dads in it, I'm in awe at the improvements made since 2007. When I popped open the hood I was very intimidated, I recognized almost nothing. The turbos are even buried. I couldn't even find the battery....still looking! lol

It is very frustrating though because I'm a little more than just handy with tools. I rebuilt my Chevy Nova 250 straight 6 in 1980 and taught power mechanics through the early 2000's so I'm good mechanically. I finished my career teaching pre engineering which included teaching kids how to write programs and build robots with sensors and motors. Maybe my experience hurts more than it helps.

This is our 7th Toyota since 1982. Started off with a Tercel, Got a 4 speed truck in 1986, a van, two Rav 4s and two Tundras. This current truck is my retirement vehicle and will take us to The Point on Hatteras Island among other places. I hope to be able to drive it with some light off roading after I get a few scratches on it.
