i thought about ya the other day when you were making your new hammer and forgot to link this to ya. he's my boss and does a little bit of metal work on the side. he likes to turn old pieces of scrap into new stuff. i wanted to buy the ladle off of him, but he won't sell his stuff since he just likes to do it for fun. he keeps inviting me to go bang on some metal with him, but i haven't carved out some time yet.

Your boss has a great shop and some real skills. I love making stuff from found/salvaged materials, but a lot of knife people are pretty ocd about steels, so I mostly use known stuff.
I have some finished works from people that I have known or met, and my approach was not to try purchasing but to explain that I would treasure an item that was hand made by them and offer materials tools or labor. Im susceptible to this approach myself.

 

My neighbors go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras every year and send us a King Cake on Fat Tuesday. It's always from a different bakery... This was the best one yet (they aren't usually DIY). Strawberry Cream Cheese.

Yup. Wall clouds are amazing. Had one over the house here, years back. It had started to rotate but didn't ever touch down. Gorgeous sky.
