    Average about 240-250. :eek2:

Thank goodness I have my wife’s RAV4 hybrid as an option for work commute since she works from home, even though it’s only 18 miles round trip.. oddly enough, it’s still the Tundra that pulls out of the driveway every morning haha.

Westcott Lift AVS/Rear Air, 35/12.5/18 Toyo Open Country AT3, Method 305 NV 18x9 (+18 Offset), Extang Solidfold 2.0 Tonneau
    Hi all -
After a ton of research on 3rd Gen Tundra lifts for the rear air trucks that have AVS, I finally decided on doing the Westcott AVS/Rear Air lift (for the Tokico shock). Im extremely happy with the outcome. This is a 2023 Platinum Magnetic Gray Metallic sitting on Method 305 NV Double Black (18x9, +18mm Offset, 6x5.5, 108 Centerbore) wrapped in Toyo Open Country AT3s 35/12.5/18 D. Here are a few things to note that many have asked:

    - Yes, the front lift is 'about' 2 inches and not 3
    - Yes, you can set it up a rake (mine has about an inch) by adjusting the rear air control arms for height
    - Yes, 35 inch tires with wheels that have +18 offset will easily clear with zero rubbing (as along as the front liner is pinned back)
    - Yes, AVS controls still work
    - Yes, rear air controls will still cycle through H-M-L just fine

I understand that stance, wheel choice and ride-quality are ALL based on opinion/preference but here is my two cents. In my opinion (and one that drove a 2012 Tacoma for 11 years) the ride quality isn't 'crazy' different than stock. Yes, it is slightly stiffer like most lifts end up being... but nothing that makes me second guess putting the lift on.

Here are a few shots and I build a comparison that is as close as I could get. Hope this helps all you AVS/Rear Air guys a bit. The AVS and all rear air systems were a bit of a challenge. Cheers guys.

Looks great! Appreciate the details and before/after too. I only have the rear air not AVS and it’s been confusing trying to get squared away

Yeah, I bet. I did a ton of research to figure out the options I had.... I will say that without the AVS, it opens up your options a bit more with the front suspension upgrades... though the back is still limited to rear air control arm control adjustment (if you want to keep the air suspension functional.)

Anyone know if these TRD Center caps fit any aftermarket wheels? If so, any brands in particular? Or is this typically a universal fit.TRD CAPS.jpg

    Lots of stuff!
Typically, aftermarket wheels will have a larger bore to fit many vehicles so you will see sizes like ~107mm to fit Tacos as well and domestics too.

The hub bore on our OE wheels is 95.1 I think. so these caps wold have that size as an outer dimension.

However, when I got my aftermarket wheels, they came with the Tundra friendly bore so I might be able to fit those into my new wheels.

There may be other wheels on the market with the needed bore for those caps.

Wheels and tires got delivered from Tirerack a little later than I had hoped for tonight, but they're here. Slapped them on in the garage real quick and took one night shot.

Method MR306 18x9 +18. My crewmax is a Limited, so it came with 20's. I wanted to go down to 18's though and keep the stock rotational diameter. So these are wrapped in 265/70/18 Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Stock ride height.

I replaced the Falken Wildpeak OEM tires that came on my 1794 with TRD Off-Road package. Less than 2,000 miles on them. Message me if you are interested.

Any TRD Sport folks with no lift and stock 20” wheels have any insight on how big of a tire we can go with no spacers? Ive been told from 285/65/20, so just seeing if anyone can corroborate that? Any pics would be helpful as well...Thanks!

Are those the OEM center caps you put on the KMC wheels?

Going cross-eyed trying to research tire options.. looking for a little affirmation/validation.
Just purchased a 2023 Platinum CM 6.5, with a dealer installed level. Keeping the OEM wheels on the truck. Based off my research 275/65R20 is probably the biggest I can get without rub, offset, or poke. Trying to avoid much poke, to save my paint from rock nicks.
So assuming that is the correct size, I’m considering Cooper AT3 XLT or Cooper S/T Maxx. (I loved the S/T Maxx on my Tacoma)
    Any thoughts/feedback/comments?

I went with continental terrain contact a/t since I daily my tundra in Colorado weather. Same size as you're thinking of getting and love them. Light, smooth ride and gave me the confidence I was looking for in the snow and ice. The other tires look cool, but I found it to be practical and still nice on the eye. Can't go wrong with any option though!

My only comment is that the larger/heavier tires eat into MPG, sometimes by a lot. Other people can give more details.

I do have the Cooper AT3 4S in 275/60/20 and they are quiet and handle great. I thought about the Cooper AT3 XLT but the weight scared me away. Might have been a better choice and I'd be interested to hear what you think of them if you go that route.

The Continental terrain contact a/t are awesome tires. Had those on a Honda Ridgeline and they are quiet, super grippy on dry and wet and wore well. The only reason I didn't go with them is their off road is pretty marginal. But I can highly recommend them if that's not a problem for anyone.

I searched this thread along with general gen3, but does anybody know the weight of the stock limited rims and tires, or the TRD sport rims/tires, im guessing the TRD sport would be the same as the limited or just a bit heavier.

Platinums and 18" TRDOR are like 74-76lbs, is the limited/trd sports in the same range like 37lb rim and 37lb tire?

I just so happen to have a set of Limited take offs sitting in my front yard. One weighs 79lbs. These are Yokohama Geolander 265/60R20.

My new wheels and tires come in at 86lbs, So completely doable. Most of the weight is in the tires (my Toyos weigh 60lbs).

Hey guys. Looking for some assistance on the wheels. I just ordered my 2023 Platinum. Will be bringing wheels from my 2010 tundra. 295/55/r20. Obviously have to change the wheels out. Curious what offset if anyone knows I will need. thinking +18 on a 20x9 rim. Any suggestions would be great! having a hard time finding anything that will fit. LOL

I was told the factory offset on OEM wheels is +60. I’m currently running a wheel and tire combo with the same width you are looking at. 295/70R17 at +10 offset this gives me a little bit of poke. I don’t have any rubbing but I did have to pin back the wheel well felt. So far I’m not having any issues, but I am considering a slight front suspension upgrade to try and level the truck. The problem I have is the rear air suspension I have. I like to have that capability, so I’m probably not going to go too crazy with it. I know you’ve probably heard this before but it all depends on what you want really. The bolt pattern was changed from a 5 to 6 bolts so you will have to get new wheels for sure, so keep that in mind. Also if you are planning on lifting at all, I’ve been told that the AVS and air ride make it harder to lift the trim levels with those options. I think Wescott makes a kit for it, but I am unfamiliar with any other at the moment. My best suggestion would be to ask a tire store like Discount Tire or your local 4wheel custom shop, they can give you an accurate run down of offset to help you make an educated decision based off your tire choice.

Tires have done very well in my opinion. I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania and our winters are usually very heavy with snow as we get pounded with lake effect snow from Lake Erie.
