Discount Tire called and said that my new tires are in, and they’ll be going on tomorrow

I was just going to go over it real quick to get the mud from yesterday off but ended up saying screw it and having a foam party

I could have drove up while you were waiting for Jimmy.

 

I had my truck spayed right after I got it so hopefully it’d be okay after that. Maybe not the VD part, but at least not having a creole/Toyota hybrid running around.

 

@BiggHertz was actually tardy to the pardy this time

New rubber! Toyo Open Country RT Trail 35x12.5x18. They’re an F rated 12 ply tire and are meaty as hell, but surprisingly a pound lighter per corner than my old Wildpeaks (295/70R18, E rated 10 ply).

Definitely doing some chopping. Heading to SDHQ after work to pick up some BMC plates and then I'll take the grinder to it. @BiggHertz volunteered his services to get the plates tacked on

Yeah the sidewall and tread design looks great. Time will tell how they hold up, but looks promising

I figured I'd just caulk it, maybe run some sprinkler wire through there for future electrical work

 

I thought for sure you were going to 37’s. I see Big O Tire had a buy 2 get 2 free deal last weekend. I had just taken my truck out for a test drive after the boot service and almost stopped. I would like to have someone that has done this before so I can take a peak at what was needed to trim to get them in.

I watched (and continue to watch) @BiggHertz do all the clearancing work to get 37s to fit… not really something I want to undertake haha. He’s not to far up the way from us though, so he’d be a great brain to pick on that topic.
