Order placed! Should receive it by next Tues. I like the clean fit and finish of the single row in the lower bumper. I am considering the 32" headlight revolution light bar to mount behind the grill.

Brackets, harness, switch, IP67 Cree LB and I called and talked to an RC rep, who stated three years on the Cree light. I could have cobbled a light, harness and switch and brackets together maybe a little cheaper. But just decided to purchase this LB with 3 yr warranty and some pretty decent reviews.

Per RC rep on the phone, as long as you keep your purchase receipt with RC they will replace the cree light bar within three years, lifetime on the brackets. I always kinda chuckle at "lifetime warranties" what ever that means? haha  all good.

Can you recall if any of those reviews said anything on the quality of weatherproofing? I'm concerned about snow/cold exposure for 6 months out of the year. It's a real element where I am

Is IP68 a fully protected product? Top rating rating I'm assuming?

Anything NOT IP68 Would not be sufficient?

This bar that patriot''s looking at looks like it's IP67. So that means "dust tight and immersion up to 1m?"

I'm sure it would be sufficient. I'm not suburging it. The ice builds up on a vehicle, but not to the point of penetration I'm sure

That's cool, and important that you can return it if the flicker bug sets in.

IP67 is still really good and will almost certainly never have issues with moisture intrusion, barring some defect, even in extreme environments. Basically it's saying that the item is waterproof up to 1 meter depth, which is the equivalent to about 1/10 atmospheres, or approximately 3.3 PSI.

IP68 simply means it's better past that depth, and could literally be rated IP68 by being only fractionally more resistant to outside pressure. ~3.5 PSI before water intrusion = IP68.

I believe your right Ron, great points. I asked the RC folks why their competitors we're so much more expensive? RC said your paying extra $$$ for the replacement "life time" warranty? Again the old life time warranty cliche always kinda makes me chuckle. I wanna say will I have this Tundra and LB for a life time? haha. I have the means to buy the high end LB's but just can't justify the cost vs use.

I sell and install these rough country bars all the time. They are great lights, everyone is satisfied that gets one. I've done one Tacoma (08) and two Tundras (14-15)... They are great. I've never had one returned... Yet. Granted, they are NOT Rigid Industries, know that going into it, but they are by far brighter than the old school PIAA Bull Bar and roll bar lights of old. Putting one on and firing it up for the first time, is like the first time you replaced halogen bulbs for an HID kit. I have a 20" Amazon bar on my 2010, had it long before I got hooked up with RC, but even that drowns out my LED swapped oem headlights and fogs together. The 30" RC bars are brighter than mine!

1BadTundra- Great info, thanks for posting up! Glad I took a pass on the higher dollar LB's. This will work for my intended use and install appears straight forward. I do not plan tapping into my ignition wiring, just the battery per instructions.

For sure Ron, thanks! I called RC initially before ordering and I asked about the relay and they said it comes with a relay, harness and switch ready to connect. Excellent customer service by the way.

Here are a couple pics of my RC 30" Cree Black Series. It's a third the price and the quality is solid. All the hardware, harness, including switch and relay. I took off the grill, wired it to the battery. It took about 3ish hours, took my time, didn't want to brake anything. Lights up the back roads.

The install is straight forward. I wouldn't advise going straight to the battery, only because the supplied lighted switch will always be lit, even wit the key out. You want to wire it to an ignition switched source.

It's an LED, I don't think it will hurt the battery.

Did the install on the RC lightbar, I am very happy with it. Gonna take a ride tonight and give it a shakedown.
Mention the red LED light to RC rep, he has had this on his truck two years no issues with battery drain, he reminded me it's a tiny LED.
So the lightbar loot....arrived yesterday. :kona:Fast shipping from Tenn. The mounts are really stout, they came in a separate plain cardboard box.
    image.jpg

    More light info..
    image.jpg

Taped off the painted areas..(I was like wow blue lipstick on the pig) haha..gently cut the lower grill out. Pretty easy. Then installed bumper mounts, which are well made and powder coated nicely.
    image.jpg

Comes with a light bar cover.
    image.jpg

Took it to my buddy's XPEL paint protection shop after install. He cut a skinny strip of XPEL covered the entire lens with a strip of clear paint protection. No future road rash pitting, no yellowing. XPEL is awesome stuff.

    image.jpg

For $259.00, and 3 year warranty, I give this (eye candy) haha..5 stars for fit and finish, and function. I hope it lasts a really long time.
