I still trying to calm down....but nobody got hurt and ultimately I'm sure it will be fixed fine. I'm just mad to have my new truck damaged already.

Had to slow down for some traffic and this lady plowed right in the back of me. Truck took it like a champ...her car, not so much...Crushed her front end and destroyed her radiator. Luckily she has insurance and my claim is already in and I'll be taking the truck in today to have it fixed.

    So crappy rental for me...damn....

That's not too bad. Could have been much worse, but I get the feeling. I was rear ended 4 months after buying it (brand new)

Damn! Glad you are ok! That blows about your truck. Glad it was at least with someone insured.

Last time i was rear ended it was by an unisured, unlicensed idiot who was on her phone and hit me at 40lbs and totaled her car on my tow hitch and rear bumper.

I had my 3 week old Tacoma hit in a packing lot.

Any pictures of the other car?

That definitely blows. Your insurance or hers should provide you with vehicle similar to your Tundra. I would demand a Tundra or at least a Taco.

    Thanks everyone....

Yeah, I can't wait to see what I get...Last time I got a PT Cruiser....it was the worst...

I guess I'm just extra mad since the my last car was hit one month before I traded it on the Tundra...so I've been rear ended twice in 4 months. Getting pretty sick of Houston traffic...

Got my crappy rental. Damn Corolla. Oh well, guess they wanted me in a Toyota. At least the gas mileage will be good.

Hope to have the truck back by next Wednesday. They overestimated on my last vehicle so maybe it'll get done sooner.

seems like you can have it fixed like new! the bumper held up pretty well based on what you are saying! I was under impression that these bumpers are plastic and wimpy!
one of my Tacomas and day 1 someone crossed into my lane and damaged the front fender. very loud sound but damage was minimal to my car!
they had their own separate lane to merge in but missed it ...

I feel your pain: I was hit in exactly the same spot last November, 8 months after I bought mine. Now, I'm concerned if Toyota will replace the rear bumper brackets, as per the recall. d3853bbdbc62c5aedba1364e551b3823_69f887e8a48e0482be93770c746e7ca907c066eb.jpg1e5bef0f4c6057c168786f45c9a73998_1b6059c0136bdcb99519fd5899e85b0ba1518860.jpg

How did your repair turn out? Good as new?

Side question. Did 2017's need the new brackets?

The repair turned out very good, bumper was aligned properly. I took the Truck to dealer today to have recall performed.
According to the recall notice I received in the mail, and my repair order, 'Certain 2016-2017' Tundras need the brackets.

That's good to hear. I'm optimistic that they will do a good job, and hopefully if they have to use new brackets (and I'm sure they do), Toyota would provide them the newest parts...I said hopefully....if not it will need an oil change in the next month and I'm sure they would check it then.

Right....not sure I like the new grill....

Well false f.....ing alarm. Got there and noticed the bumper was not level by about a half inch...no biggie right, well upon further inspection, noticed the hitch was scratched up and the side flange was actually bent. Since this part took the brunt of the hit, I was pissed that they had missed it.

So I left it for a new hitch and a bumper alignment.

How could they miss that???? Uhhhhgggggg.....

Sorry to hear! Been there but the guy who rear ended me in my 2008 Tundra in lovely downtown Cleveland, Ohio.

Except all I got was a hit skip from a guy with gold front teeth and dreads as I was talking to dispatch and they were to busy to come but wanted me to give a description of the driver ?!!
