Just went for a long trip and NOW I know what you mean . The edge of my butt hurts on the outer side . My Toyota Highlander is way more comfortable. I bought a few types of cushions , but think ill go back to the first one I got ( check my post ) . Doesn't help having gained 30lbs since Covid and lack of exercise. If you are a big guy , it is an issue for sure .

I tried two different seat cushion but went back to bare seat...

Beggers can't be choosers, at least it's better than a wooden bench in the park lol

I have to say I find this amazing (that the Highlander is more comfortable). We bought a 2020 Highlander in late 2021, and to date it is the ONLY vehicle we've ever owned that *required* a trip to a chiropractor after a 12 hour drive (with plenty of breaks). It was so bad I forced my wife to test drive a 2022 4Runner - best decision ever. She absolutely loves it. :)

I'm a fan of jackers, put them in all my vehicles. Mainly because I like to sit higher. But for people that are complaining that the seats are too hard, I see folks recommending jackers. How will that help? Jacking the seat up won't make it softer. It can help change the angle a bit, or allow for more drop from seat to peddle, but like the op for example, I don't think it would help. Or are you saying that it shifts where the weight is pressing maybe?

For reference, I am 5'8" 180. I have had a 2018 Tacoma for the last 5 years and thought the seats were very comfortable when many folks complain about them. I have a deposit on a 1794 which I will plan to use jackers, but now i'm slightly worried about the seat. Maybe need to find a way to sit in one. I'm hoping that since I found Tacoma seats comfy when others didn't that I will be ok.

Go test drive a 1794 or platinum with leather seats to make sure it'll be comfortable for you. Also compare it to the limited softex seats which are softer

I'll let you drive my old Bronco and you'll appreciate your seat more. I have no issues with the seats in mine, but again, I also drive an old Bronco...

I drive an FJ40 as my other vehicle, so yeah...i'm sure it will beat that. But even that I don't find too bad. I'm not that worried. I've been trying to test drive a 1794, but the dealers near me never have one in stock.

I sold mine because the powertrain was insanely slow. I didn't even keep it 4 months. I felt like I was back in my 2002 Carolla but sitting higher which was a real bummer. I wanted to become a Taco Guy with tricked out lifts and wheels so bad.

Got a Tesla model y for a rental and these seats are cushy. I went to park the tundra and shit felt hard as a rock. I guess my ass is used to them or the Tesla seats are just overly plushy

Yeah it’s more sickening than the lightning I had.
I was selling my tundra for a Gen. 3 pilot but these MY aren’t too bad. There’s a lot of storage under the floorboard in the rear which makes up for a lot

I loved the Limited Seats other than they were noisy but for me the real leather Platinum seats are amazing!

Does anyone know if the real leather gets softer over time? I will say my wife’s 16 platinum highlander seats with real leather have become extremely comfortable as they age. I’ve noticed the Tundra platinum has a very firm bottom cushion but hoping for the same result as the highlander since it’s real leather , not softex.

just finished a 5 hour drive from Cincinnati to SE Michigan last week and still was pretty comfortable with the drive, only wish I could adjust the lumbar lower.

    I’m 5’9 185 so average size.

"Hi dealer, something is wrong with my seat. Feel this. It's not normal. Can you guys take a look at it?"

That's all you really needed to say. You could have also waited until another Platinum or 1794 was on the lot and compared.

I originally bought the Platinum version of the 2017 Tundra because the leather seats were so comfortable. To me the seats in my 2023 Platinum are even more comfortable than the 17, even more comfortable than my Audi. I would honestly say that aside from the Panamera I drove a few years ago, the 2023 Platinum has the most comfortable vehicle seats I've ever sat in. I'm not light either...

As a 6’3, 210 person with chronic lower back issues, I find my 2023 platinum INFINITELY more comfortable than my 2017 limitedwas-the past 6 weeks since I got the truck have been fantastic for my back. No more constant adjusting, shoving things behind my back, pain when getting out, etc. The 4 way adjustable lumbar has been great, and I really appreciate the thigh extenders- it makes a ton of difference for me.

My problem is I’ll be fine for a few months and then I just do something casual like bend over, or sit down and oof I’m locked up for a week and out of commission

Yeah, I started doing that a few years ago and it made a big difference. My biggest issue these days is arthritis in my L4-L5-S1- it’s more of a manage symptom issue and doing things like strengthening my core and back, maintaining good posture, etc have all helped somewhat.

The seats feel firm but i find them very comfortable. The longest drive i have done in mine is 8 hours and i was fine the whole way as well as many 3-5 hour trips with no complaints. Compare this to my dads '22 f-150 that i rode in for a 6 hour round trip the other day and felt like i was in a wreck afterward. absolutely terrible.

I bought my 1794 a couple weeks ago and promptly did a 36 hour drive. Found the seats quite comfortable. I was very happy. I will say they are a bit firm so I can see how some people maybe want softer, but for me they were great.

I’m curious- can anyone speak to the comfort of the platinum/ 1794 capstone seats vs limited / TRD pro?

I thought the softex was better. Tell you what for visual wear the softex is way better. My plat seats developed creases in 1500 miles

After 20 years in an F350, my 1794 seats are just short of a miracle.
