Bed Step Order

I've had a bed step on backorder for four months at a local dealership and just received an email stating the order was canceled. Called the dealership and they said the order was canceled by Toyota and they assumed it's due to a redesign or new supplier. Anyone else experienced this?

 

I haven’t got the call yet but I suspect it’s going to happen soon. I bet they changed the design a bit and will release something later this year.

 

So Amp's bed step is out of stock as well. Apparently, they don't make the step for Toyota anymore. However, they will have parts built by the end of the month and will start shipping mid March. I ordered one for a customer yesterday, and I got an ETA of 4/14. They also went up $20.00. They are now $309.95. If we can help anyone with anything go to our site esptruck.com. We now have more than just our storage systems on our site.

 

This is interesting that AMP is no longer the supplier. Suppliers usually have a contract with OEMs for a few years of vehicle launch.

 

I placed an order for one from my local dealer on 3-Dec. Just emailed today asking for an update an was told: "Checking the back order report it looks like Toyota changed the status to STOP SALE. It will not be available anytime soon." They canceled the authorization for the credit card charge - no word on when a replacement part will be available.

 

That's a bummer. Makes you wonder what fell apart. I'm assuming Toyota found a cheaper supplier because I don't think it could've been a quality issue.

 

Maybe Toyota is going to be getting the steps from those guys on eBay that several members here have bought from? And, LOL, it still cracks me up when I get those e-mails from Toyota to come get accessories for the new tundra, and the photos show the bed step.

 

In the same boat, however mine has some traction. Ordered on 1/11. I received notification yesterday that it shipped. Should arrive 2/17. Dealer stated that Toyota switched providers and it was delayed. Curious to see if anything is different from original supplier.

 

Has anyone else noticed amp steps hanging down on the drivers side while the vehicle is driving down the road? I was only able to speak with one person, who had one hanging, when we both came to a stop light. He said the lift motor failed and was on back order. His was 2 yrs old.

 

The dealership I purchased my truck at 3 weeks ago had the bed step in stock. I had them install it when I picked the truck up. Maybe you should call around to other dealerships for availability.

 

I also received a ship notification but the dealership said it was just to clear their system. Nothing actually shipped and there's no tracking number.

 

Is this only for the 3rd gen bed step and not the 2.5 gen bed step or are they the same bed step

That sucks. I got a tracking number and UPS emailed me about delivery tomorrow. I ordered from Serra in FL. They had it the cheapest around.

Received today. Looks like it's AMP. Plastic step has their logo on bottom. So they didn't change suppliers..we'll at least on the one I got.

 

I need one for the passenger side. Already have a powered step

 

is this good for 22 and 23 models? i dont know if i should wait or not if they come up with updated version

 

They are the same for 2022 and 2023... but regardless, you will be waiting. The guys getting these now ordered them several months ago and there are many more of us still waiting for our orders to be fulfilled. I have been waiting for a month... so, I don't expect to get it for at least another month. :-( Assuming they are really making them and that they are becoming more available.

Part number has been changed but looks like the same step. I will be getting mine in this Friday. Glad AMP is still the manufacturer and made here in the USA.

 

I wanna order the new one just to compare

 

Any word on durability of those ebay steps? At $214 I may reconsider waiting for alternatives.

 

If you look around you can get OEM for around 250. Or find AMP on sale. Don't know much about who manufacturers those on bay.

 

Hey, yeah, I’ve experienced this through this company that claimed to have the amp bed step for the ‘22 tundra “in stock”. I never heard of this company before. I believe it’s called Armageddon Automotive or something. I would’ve claimed fraud since it never came. But it was over 90 days. And I had purchased many mods and parts from tons of other companies. I kinda forgot about it. I currently have a swing out spare that I use to step.. So it hasn’t been bugging me as much anymore. Still pisses me off to think I may have been taken for $340 or whatever it was.. I ordered it 7 months ago

 

In Florida? They look legit, just slow. Can't hurt to call for a refund.

 

Except they are back ordered everywhere with no estimate as to when they might be available. That makes it hard for us to know what to do. If it is gonna be 6 more months before I can get one I'd cancel my order and just go with the ebay knock-off. But, of course, Toyota and Amp provide zero information.

 

I’ve had an order in for some time now with local dealer. Went to the dealer yesterday and used the part # on the box from the above image. Dealer showed 9 inbound parts. Placed an order.

Also got notification this morning Amp step is in-stock. Higher price at $309, sticking with dealer $270.

 

I just went down and looked at the box mine came in... it does indeed have the new part number, even though all the e-mail correspondence from the dealer still showed the old P/N from the original order.
