The 6 speed was actually ok, but the 8 speed is really bad.

I am actually a GM fan. I would get the 3.0 or any of the HD versions (which I believe are the best in the truck world) with plenty of confidence.

Ah I couldn’t remember off the top of my head which one it was. I drive the 6.6 gasser and it’s been fantastic.

I got 32mpg on road trips and 26 city from my ecoD, I miss the great mpg and having like a 24-26 gallon tank go 6-700 miles ez.

Ppl want to hate on the diesel but time is $,
Lol surprised you never tuned your ecoD, I ran a gde engine tune and sofaking tranny tune on my 17, truck got 6-700 miles ez, ran 32+ on freeway going 75+, got 25 ez in city.

They already have workarounds for majority of your concerns, tune to disable def completely or refill with distill water, tune to reset dpf % calculator to 800 +/- miles instead of 200 +/-, tune for turbo brake, tune to disable transmission limiting power due to steering wheel angle.

I am sure you recall back in 17 fca had a dieselgate scandal where they put the ecoD on stopsale. You do realize the tune afterwards neutered the crap due to that. I had to jump through some hoops to get my aftermarket tune in Cali, the tuner would not ship to Cali addresses, but ultimately traded it in cuz I got more for it then what I paid for it after 4 years and 30k miles.

Other then that I sit in my 56k sr5 and regret all the creature comforts I gave up for it

2023’s Tundra’s are also being offered at $3-4000 off sticker. Not sure I’d say you can’t trust JD Power. Lexus is #1 for a reason on this list. CR hasn’t recommended the Tundra in years for a reason.
JD Power ranking on this isn’t initial quality, it was durability. I think over the past 3 years.
If we are honest Toyota has lost a step especially with sending out the new Tundra as a test vehicle. Give it a couple years and hopefully Toyota will be above Chevrolet. CR will be recommended again and many will be praising the high rankings again.

2023 Tundra's are most certainly not being offered for 3-4k off sticker. I can't find any on lots for more than a week at most.

there is a dealer around here doing that and then when you get there they add on thousands worth of BS, lol.

I live in a large market and MSRP on the top trims is about as good as your going to get, you may get lucky and get a lower model or un popular config for 1K off or something but discounts are not happening yet.

I found a limited with 340 miles for $3500 below MSRP in Vermont but hesitated because of the color and it was gone and I have seen some platinums in MD for $2000 under MSRP on car gurus but for local buyers only.

I saw 5-15k of "accessory" fees and other bs stuff ontop of the price of the car. The one I bought was MSRP + sales tax + 250 doc fee so I counted that as a good deal in this market anyway.

IF you go GM then buy the wheel well flares right away and put them on, that way when the wheel wells start to rust ( which they all do) you'll be all set. GM never again for me.
