New wheels for new Tundra

 

Installed my cat theft deterrent plate from Taco Tunes.
Nice fit, easy install considering my TRD skid plate spacers for the diff drop were in the way. (R&R was all)

 

Couldn’t stand the chrome anymore and didn’t want to pay $300+ to have it wrapped so just used good old plastidip.

 

Wow, looks like the rear end of the TRD skid plate is hanging down a ways, correct? Is that a Taco Tunes thing, or did you do that?

 

That looks incredibly good @Fooyotatundra. How easy is that to do? That's a spray no doubt. Got info on how it is to do? thanks.

 

I had to lower the TRD skid plate for clearance for the lift kit diff drop.

Pretty easy to do, taping off the chrome took longer than spray painting it. Yeah it’s rattle can, you can find plastidip anywhere. Just tape off the chrome surrounding and used a credit card to push the tape into the edges. Apply light even coats and you should be good. I think I did about 4-5 coats.

 

Well I finally got to join the 3rd gen crowd… been waiting since November for my 23 to come in which gave me plenty of time to turn my 20 back to stockish!!

 

Definitely need more details. Did you just swap stock parts?

 

Installed ICS phone setup with a Ram mounts phone holder. This thing is beefy and does not move at all. Still waiting on ICS mount, arm and phone holder. I'll probably toss this setup on the passenger side and keep it all ICS for the driver.

 

I really like this, just wish it wasn't so expensive.

 

It's up to $200 already, glad I picked it up last spring for $150.

 

Got mine used from a member here and it's still a pricy phone holder system.

how many cans did you end up using for 4-5 coats, if you don't mind me asking?
and did you do any prep work before on the chrome, aside from cleaning it? like sanding it a bit so the plastidip adheres better?

 

really looking forward to a map/dome light solution!

 

Bought a steam cleaner after the puppy had some semi-diarrhea after getting her shots today . My seat cover arrives tomorrow too.

But +1 on the Harbor Freight steam cleaner (buy distilled water). Cleaned the softex rear seat no problem, and when spraying pet cleaner (enzymatic cleaner) first then steaming it in the smell is totally gone.

Got my ‘23’1794 hybrid and the wheels ceramic coated and the windows tinted. Tonneau cover getting put on tomorrow morning.

What I have done so far... Installed my cheap soft tri fold tonneau cover from my old Tundra, it almost fits perfectly. Installed some cheap eBay side steps so the kids can get in and out. Added some tvd vinyl decals to the front and back. I will be installing the Toyota bed extender from my old Tundra when I find the time or need it. What I would like to do... Add a light bar to the bottom of the front grill if I can find one that is reasonably priced and actually helps with light output and add a rear fold down step if I could ever find one. I really don't want to have to carry a step stool around to get into the bed when the tail gate is down.

No prep. Probably 2 coats. I didn't use plastidip just whatever the cheap Walmart spray paint was. Has held up great.

My box is fiberglass and it is around 1.85 cu ft.
