What kinda stuff are you stringing on the line?

 

Sheets and towels mostly. Anything that’s needs a sun bleaching from long term body sweat discoloration.

Also things that easily shrink in the dryer.

 

I’m beat. Missed the whole game. Got the 6/3 run for the oven and re-routed washer and dryer power through the joists. Just gotta get the fridge and microwave 12/2 run and one piece is done.

 

I was thinking leather and chains for the same reason……

 

Who won? Should I be excited?

 

I've been smelling gas from our oven this last week, definitely from inside, not any of the feeder lines. Not wanting to die in our sleep, I decided it needed prompt resolution. This forum has me working through all kinds of repairs I've never done before so-- even though gas inhalation is scary..., and explosions are really scary-- I decided to try to figure it out. With help from the internet, I figured it likely was the igniter failing. I couldn't find anything telling me what specific model range I have, and I didn't want to take it apart to see which type igniter it was, so I ordered both possible shapes. And got it done:

I found a set on market place. Never installed for 400 + shipping.

I'd like to go long tubes for crackie still, but hey this is cheaper and I can handle all this myself.

 

Also, I've been hearing about these pallets of electronics and tools and whatnot that are Amazon returns. Supposedly you can buy a whole pallet for cheap, but it feels very very scammy.

I figure if anyone here knows for sure it'd either be @shifty` @GODZILLA or maybe @Jack McCarthy

I've never bought anything like that, but my older brother bought a pallet at some kind of sell off gig, and he wound up with an air compressor, several high end extension cords, and some other odds and ends for super cheap. He was happy with just the extension cords at the price he got. Not sure about the Scamazon ones, but I know @LarryDangerfield buys scamazon warehouse stuff and has generally had good luck.

 

yeah, I just used those when I installed my locker recently. They're convenient to use but pretty lame they cost like $6 or $7 more each, as I bought 4 of them. Warning to all: they are bags and will puncture much easier that the bottles. Trust me on this one. Luckily I saw it happen so I only dumped 8'ish ounces of diff juice in my cab.

So, the scamazon warehouses are ginormous, and they hold stock merchandise for thousands of different sellers, acting as a middleman distributor. Most times when you order anything from the big gurrl, they just pull it from their warehouse and send it rather than the order coming straight from the seller. If for any reason, items are returned, they go back to the big guurrl warehouse, and are never returned to the actual seller. That's where all the 'open box' stuff comes from, and if its not still in brand new condition, it goes on the pallets you're talking about. I recently bought a horn and was unhappy with it, so I sent it back for a full refund. I installed it while I had it, which means scratches and cut wires-not brand new condition. It will be on one of those pallets. The only scammy part of them, is that they are all returns, or damaged in transit from the original seller, but sometimes that's just the packaging.

 

I would love to buy a few of those pallets. Just don’t know where to get them legitimately since that site does seem very fake

 

And I think they're sold like a grab-bag. So it's really a gamble of what you'll get, like when they auction off storage units

 

I seem to end up with old surround sound systems from people. That's what I have in my garage. Had to buy a remote to set it up properly. All in $15. Definitely recommend.

No company provided boots I take it? I try to get a year or year and a half out of mine at work then bring home for outdoor stuff before they get too torn up.

 

Oh no, TSC carries or carried these boots. I just didn't have time back in them days to live a life outside of work. I made time, and make time. Mucho happier now

 

How hard and expensive would it be to long travel a 2002 SR5? Daydreaming here, but it's a fun exercise...

We all be shifting towards electric everythin' it seems? Then solar can help out a fair bit.

Though in our kitchen we are going from an electric cooktop to a gas range. And our furnace is gas. But electric for the oven and my first electric dryer which is interesting to me, always had gas dryers before.

 

Sounds like the guys at your local shady UPS store have a side gig for those lost Amazon returns.

 

Our new house is all electric. Thought I would miss the gas stove and heater. House has a heat pump and we installed an induction stove top. Don’t miss either of the gas appliances. And my all electric bill is much cheaper than my buddys gas and electric combined. Gas has gone through the roof. Solar is gonna jack up the electrical rates here. They “have to” buy it from the consumers producing it at a higher rate than they buy wholesale.

Mercedes is in the garage at the farm. The 95 and 02 taco are outside on concrete at the farm. The rest is at home

 

Yup. I have a letter from the power company stating just that. My dads last power bill included a statement that his power went up 26% due to mandatory consumer Solar power purchasing.
