    Hey Tundra Crue,

I have read a lot about the TRD lift kit on the forums and bought the kit from Sparks - thanks for the great deal!

I have a 2023 Limited TRD off-road Hybrid up in interior BC. (My third Tundra)

-the local dealer would not install the TRD lift kit
-I had a local off-road specialist shop install the kit (he is a Toyota factory certified mechanic with over 25 years experience and lifted my last tundra - I trust his work and he is a toyota fanatic - he rolls a sweet 2022 tundra on 37's)
-after the install the truck rides great, but I am getting the following warning messages on my dash:

    IMG_1255.jpg
    IMG_1256.jpg
    IMG_1257.jpg
-the truck went to the local Toyota dealership for a calibration but they could not clear the codes and I have no traction control, LTA or pre-collision avoidance capability according to the dash images as shown

-oddly enough I got a brake! message on the dash when I came too close to another vehicle from the pre-collision avoidance system even though it is not supposed to be functional so not sure what is going on there...

-the only other issue I have had was the main digital dash died the other day while at the dealership. I came back 45 minutes later and it was fine, but they service person did not mention anything.

As it stands: The local dealer service took some photos of the lift to forward to Toyota Canada to see if they can solve this issue. The service department said they were looking into it at the previous visit but left me hanging for 5 weeks with no contact, so they do not seem interested in helping solve anything.

If anyone has some insights into what I can do the help with this it would be greatly appreciated. In my opinion, it is a software or calibration issue, but the local dealer, "doesn't want to calibrate it again as we have already done it once."

I am going to take a crack at this... (Take this for the amount of money paid for it as I don't have the latest gen truck)

I suspect your pre-collision system is actually working ok. The problem is more likely related to the lower speed safety system because you have a Parking Support Brake Malfunction alert.

This is the system that I think is failing:

Can you try three things and at each stage see if the messages go away?

1 - Turn off the parking the parking assist like in the video.
2 - Go into your menus and turn off the parking radar assist.
3- Go under the truck front and rear and follow the wires from the little round parking sensors in the bumpers. Look for a break or disconnect. As an anonymous internet stranger I would put a timbit on this being the problem.

    Then report back

    Lots of stuff!
There are a few wires up front attached to the upper control arms that are delicate. The tech may have disconnected them to avoid breaking them. I was reading that if the key fob is in the truck while doing any type of work will cause all sorts of issues. I think the battery disconnect was the solution. This would allow the codes and errors to clear.

What tires are you running after the lift. If you go too high overall, this can also cause issues. There is a long thread that talks about the height issues.

Also noticed that you TPMS light is on. What is going on with that?

Sounds like Mountainpete might have a possible solution as well! The sensors seem to rely on each other and if one goes crazy, the rest seem to shut down.

I know the Lower Mainland dealerships are probably not the best to talk about the TRD lift as they probably haven't done any. They should have the spec's on the lift and know what the upper limit is for height before the sensors go crazy.

thanks a lot so far guys! I appreciate the input

As for the TPMS light - I put winter tires on the stock wheels and pulled the TPMS sensors for my method wheels and 35's planned for my summer setup

    will report back

    report back:

-I did all the parking assist shut off but the button on the lower dash doesn’t turn it off (or do anything for that matter) as per your video. I can turn it off from the steering wheel button menu though
    -I checked all the sensors
    -I checked all fuses
    -I disconnected the battery

    no changes to the issues

    any other ideas anyone?

    thanks!

    Can you clarify?

When you press the parking assist button (1:15 of the video) nothing happens at all? The light should go on and off. The light should, in normal operation, go on when the truck starts and then disappear.

If you never see the that icon on startup or if it doesn't appear/disappear with the button you should have the dealer diagnose that specific item.

Noticed you are in Canada. The dealers might not have the install sheets. I'd print the section about calibrating the camera and miliwave and bring it to them just in case. The installation sheet has a table of values depending on the wheel/tire combo and make sure they do "Sequential" for TSS.

Second, I'd make sure the shop that installed your kit didn't disconnect anything.

This might be coming from left field, but check your grille sensor. Those exact warning messages popped up when I replaced my front grille and unplugged the sensor. Turns out I had forgotten to plug it back in and when I did the warnings went away.

Not sure how your shop installed the lift but I've seen a few shops that take off the front end when installing lifts on these trucks for better access to the engine bay to install UCA's. Just speculating but might be worth a look.

I'm not entirely sure this is a calibration issue. I say that because I'm running ~3.25" of lift with my Icons up front PLUS another ~1" from my tires. I've never had my sensors recalibrated. My front radar & LTA all still work as they did. I don't have any PCS or LTA warnings on the dash like this (knock on wood).

It sounds like something didn't get reconnected or there's a connection issue somewhere causing a hitch in the giddy up.

Actually a lot of this makes sense... even if the TSS isn't calibrated, it shouldn't give errors. It would just be out of spec. Sounds like something is actually unplugged.

We have done about 5 Tundras with the TRD lift kit so far and each one has to have calibrations redone with a Techstream.

If it is out of spec it will throw lights. There is a threshold degree wise and if its out of that the lights come on. Just like the blind spot monitoring system. If one sensor is out of axis it throws lights instantly.

This is what I got because one drive front sensor wire was damaged

Have you checked to see what DTC are pending or present? Might be a longshot, especially since this has been ongoing for some time, but I had some wires unplugged and it caused a similar issue. reset all the codes and got the connections tight, all is well. If you have not yet tired, I would unplug the front collision sensor in the grille and then reconnect just to make sure there is not a bad connection. Do this with the ignition off of course, or you'll get more DTCs

Hey there! You mentioned you had a Limited TRD model......It is my understanding that the TRD lift kit from Toyota specifically states it is NOT compatible with any TRD model....Maybe that's why your Toyota Dealer would not install it?? And maybe why it wont calibrate correctly now??? Just some food for thought...

"The Tundra TRD lift kit includes all the necessary hardware and is only available for dealer installation. The manufacturer’s suggested retail pricing for the kit is $3,995, not including installation labor. It is available for model year 2022 and newer Tundra iFORCE and iFORCE-Max 4×4 models with either the 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed. The kit is not compatible with the TRD Pro, TRD Sport or trucks equipped with the optional Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) or air suspension."

.....But then I read this and you can add it to a TRD-Off Road??

I just installed used TRD Pro fox shocks on my 23 TrD Sport. It gave it a good lift but now i got Lights on my dash , precollision system and braking systems support. Has anyone dealt with this before?
