OK, so the ship of theseus thing I never saw a problem. It's like a vehicle. The cab is what you're actually registering. On a ship it's the keel. As long as you don't replace that, it's the same ship.

I found my specs from when I bought it:

    Screenshot_20201214-130909_Chrome.jpg

I haven't watched the video yet. I'll check it out before I attempt(mangle) this. I plan on upgrading everything eventually. I wanna get a ryzen 7 and an rtx3080 on a new motherboard eventually. Running a minecraft server on here is causing a lot of screen tear when I play. I've turned off vsync, set my TV refresh rate on my gpu, and it still does it cause I'm just under 60hz while playing. I need those 3 fps back dammit!

Here's a fun one: Was dropping the 2nd kid off at school yesterday in the truck. On an incline, at the curb, nose pointed down about 15deg. Stopped, put it in park, unlocked the doors. I heard the shift lock engage for whatever reason.

After the kid was out and closed the door, I went to shift... and the shift lock wouldn't disengage, couldn't shift gears. Almost like the incline and weight holding the nose of the truck down prevented it from disengaging.

This adds to a long list of times where I've heard the shift lock 'clunk' in/out of place after stopping and shifting to park. I've never heard another vehicle's shift lock sound so loud before, I rarely ever hear it engage/disengage. On my truck I hear it regularly, sounds like a spring-loaded pin punching into a hole or something.

Anyway, I let off the brake and reapplied a couple of times and I was able to shift info gear again. I'm not saying it was actually the brake pedal action solving the issue, it couldn't been time-related. But ... just odd situation all-around.

Mine is a little noisy and it seems to clunk when I shift it out of park(not the driveline) and that’s on relatively flat ground

The RM6 kit is awesome! I have the same and tried to talk @daveeasa and @alb1k into picking some used sets a guy north of me was selling a while back. I plug the hell out of them on here. Killer long-reach set, makes swapping out the serpentine belt on these trucks a snap. Last time I plugged them was over here about a year ago. Someone on fleaBay north of me in Commerca GA was selling gently used sets for $110, about half the MSRP.

"Grape juice enema. C'mon, you can't seriously you haven't heard about it?! Totally amazing!"

I wish mine was as wide as yours. Mine's only ~24" wide, yours looks closer to 30-32" wide, but maybe it's just perspective. I'd love to have 20% more space, and 2 more drawers than what I've got. But I know anything I buy today is going to probably be shit quality compared to 25 years ago, unless I spend 3x as much.

Same, actually... I don't understand how the system works, so I dunno where to start on troubleshooting. Too lazy to look it up. Not annoying enough yet.

Yeah sometimes it’s solid coming in and out of park, other times it feels like it barely grabbed or slipped out?

Yup. I notice it more often than not when shifting, like there's a relationship between the brake pedal and shifter.

And it's usually noticed because it's locking or releasing. It's pretty loud.

I picked up a set. Haven’t had much chance to use them but they are great. Wanted to get another set for Jason but haven’t found a slick deal price yet. If you find one somewhere, lemme know, would be a nice present for him. He’s 100% mechanic and 0% tool collector, has what he needs but nothing overly fancy. I got him some nice Tekton hand sockets a while back. He mostly uses the impact for stuff.

I mean there are a couple of 4pc sets I found.

    4 for $85-90ish

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/234879010934

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/385378879744

    set of 12 for $159

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/295160648618

    set of 9 for $139

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/295056233511

Not saying it'll be quality, but I've got a saved search setup for certain keywords and these were in that list. There's another set of 5 like ours, auction ends tomorrow afternoon, it's around $60 but will probably sell around $130.

Mine is the same way. It's the most loud of any vehicle I've owned and almost violent at times. Other times it makes no sound and disengages without even noticing. Definitely worse on a hill.

Looks like I got my set of 5 for $95. And a bit over $120 total? I’ll look for the set of 12, that would be good value.

Hah “all have issue of some kind”. Guess not on the 12 piece set. And the 9 is for parts / not working.

Always set your parking brake before shifting into park, especially on an incline. I was taught young to never to rely on the shifter as a parking brake.

We all have the same set at the shop and they're the most used tools, besides impacts. Boss buddy got them from our Cornwell guy so if they break, he just gives me one off his truck.
