How would you react to this after getting your tires rotated at the scheduled maintenance interval? I verified these readings with my pressure gauge.

    PXL_20230209_160803884.jpg

Fix it and blow it off? Reconsider using the service department? Let them know?

Pretty sad. I would definitely show the service manager.

Was the driver's side in the shade when you picked it up?

But, yes, if they only pressured up one side, that's pretty half assed.

It’s fine. They inflated the rears more than the front like the door placard says. The computer isn’t always smart enough to put the tires in the right location on the screen. The 1 psi difference is because that side of the vehicle is parked in the sun.

I showed a service advisor. Started to blow it off but thought I would want to know if it was my business. Declined the offer of a cost adjustment for the service.

No. I checked the psi and the display was spot on. The rear should be slightly higher than the front, not vice versa.

I didn't need my compressor. Just let air out of the passenger side tires.

Quality dealership service is over with.
They don't touch my truck if I can help it. An no it's not only you, it's ridiculous they cannot even fill the tires evenly. I bet 99% of their customers don't double-check their work, so things won't improve.

Did they just balance or rotate also?
Maybe they put one tire on a wrong spot and didn't pay attention.

The Lexus dealership my wife uses for the ES seems to have more pride. Of course, they charge you up front for premium service so maybe I shouldn't complain.

Rotated only, edited my post. This was just really sloppy work IMO. Just a complete lack of pride in your work.

This makes me wonder if they screwed up the rotation and went side to side instead of front to back, lol. I keep the back tires at a higher pressure.

Oh well, I've been wanting an excuse to buy new Michelin Defenders.

I mark my tires (#1,2,3,4) before balance & rotation and then verify because sometimes they forget. Both at Discount Tire and Les Schwab they did not rotate correctly more than once ... I never go back to Les Schawb they did other excessive brake job and over-priced.

take an old school stick gauge and slowly teach them how to read it. Full scene, wear a bowtie and have a pointer.

i slipped my dude $20 and told him to put all the weights on the inside & got royal treatment.
He reset my tire twice to find balance.

Yeah, they screwed up the rotation and didn’t even check pressures. I’m extremely surprised.

One thing I've discovered, find an import mechanic that was formerly employed by Toyota/Lexus. They are usually really good because now it's their personal reputation at stake.

I have a good import shop for anything important. I rarely have used them since my cars over the last few decades have seldom had any real issues. They've done timing belt, water pump and plug replacement for me. Oh and a new radiator on my 04 Tacoma after a part from a van in the next lane flew off and went through my grill, lol.

I use a black sharpie. My last tires were Cooper tires. Wrote the numbers (1,2,3,4) inside the letter C. You can't notice black on black and sometimes they wear off after a while but i could find mine even for the next rotation and did another touch up.

fyi, I bought Cooper CS5 Garnd Touring tires for 2 other SUVs and they did much much better than my last Michelin. Used to be only Michelin ... but switched to Cooper now. Tundra still has the original Michelin.

Shouldn't have to pay extra (on top of already higher service fees) to have decent work done.

Always have my tires rotated at Big-O. They do fantastic work and it is free every 5,000 miles even including re-balancing if I ask them to. I tell them don't worry about the tire pressures, I will correct when I get home. No worries.

If they gave it back to you with 43 lbs on the driver side and 36 on the passenger side would it concern you?

Just to add, the service report showed they checked the pressure after the work and each tire was at 35 lbs.

Yes, it would. Either bring it to their attention or find another place to do you rotations. I typically have to touch up the tire pressures when I get home but only by a few psi each.

Hey...they did you a favor. Instead of performing and charging you for an alignment, they just increased the right side tire pressures to compensate. Now you can drive straight...:monocle::rofl::rofl:
