No, because Nissan actually did the test in the appropriate application. The engine in the 2021 vs the 2022 is the same. They didn't bolt new stuff on for the new body style.

Yes, but not in a truck application. Pretty sure they also changed/adjusted the turbos and tuning. Plus the hybrid addition is new?

 

So I ask you this...have any of the problems that engine faced been related to it being in a truck? We all know most are being driving just like Lexus grocery grabbers.

It's an honest question...I poke my head over there every few months and it's still an ant farm on fire so I run quickly. Some of the issues I've read about seem to be more general issues than specific to the Tundra.

 

Not at all. It really does make my eye twitch. Everyone says it's the internet and it doesn't matter, but I disagree. I've gone back and fixed some of my posts a year later when somebody quotes it and I see a typo I made.

 

Well, were the wastegate issues for the turbos happening on the Lexus? IDK, because I never shopped Lexus so I have no idea what issues they've had.

If I recall, some Gen 3 folks had no start/major error issues w/their new trucks as soon as they had ceramic tint put on the front windshields..
