    Hopefully not out!

Got rear ended/ side swiped at a stop light. I saw the guy in my rear view and let off the brakes and inched forward just before impact. Pretty certain he was trying to run, but he couldn't get his F150 to start. He definitely didn't get out to see if he hurt anyone. Luckily neither the wife or I, or him were hurt.
Already found out the great news that he probably isn't insured. So, that's cool.

I did drive it home as this happened less than a mile from our house, but the tweaked leaf spring I'm thinking isn't safe to be driving

Sorry to hear this William. Glad to hear that you and your wife are okay. Hopefully it's not that bad of a fix.

@BillyB that sucks! Did you and the wife get checked out to make sure you're both ok? I know that the adrenaline of an accident can mask things and most everybody that isn't severely injured always thinks everything is fine, but then a few days later some symptoms can pop up. I had a coworker who felt fine and actually have a couple broken vertebrae, but it was a waaaaay worse impact than what yours appears to be.

I'd have them focus on the rear axle and everything it touches. To pop that spring I'm guessing that tire was hit pretty solid, and it rebounded back. Your wheel cap is gone too. That might be new shocks, springs, possibly even the diff and line into it. :(

My body is already all messed up from years of motocross, so I wouldn't notice any more/new damage anyway, haha.
The wife asked me if that guy hit us. The impact in the truck wasn't all that severe. Me seeing him coming and inching forward helped the impact a bunch.

Yeah, it's definitely going to have to be thoroughly inspected. It did seem to drive home just fine, though. But, yeah, there was obviously some tension put on that leaf spring.

Damn, @BillyB that sucks. Just FYI from my recent fun with a bicycle asshole with no insurance that hit me and did surprising damage, Precision Toyota has a pretty good body shop. They will only use OEM Toyota parts and even told me that they just ate the difference between the the newer 2018 Toyota LED headlights that I had installed rather than the stock halogen one my truck came with, never asked me to pay the difference and never mentioned my aftermarket @iHacker harness. not too bad

Worst case, I’ve got a set of factory leaves and shackles you’re welcome to if you end up needing them. I’m here in AZ as well.

I even have a double cab Chase bed and fiberglass bedsides if you’re feeling frisky.

Thanks for the offer. I'm sure they'll cover new ones, and my shackles are Toytec. From my naked eye, they SEEM to be okay.
I'd love to use the chase bed, but then I'd end up having to build a race truck. And I'd be broke, haha

Hopefully shit is more back to normal the wait is less now, but you'd have to call them. My truck was still drivable after I pulled out the fender, but while they tad it for a week or so, my wife and I had to share her car. Luckily she works from home, but it still sucked. And of course, I was out my $500 deductible.

I guess not. Also, I Googled his address from the police report (he got a ticket) and it was low income housing, so no way in hell I'd ever get paid back.

We called Precision the first week of August and they were 2-3 months out at that time. We ended up using Spectrum on Ina because I couldn’t stand to see a crumpled fender that long.
